4 Minutes Reaction Time … Not bad Sir
Give me admin on public servers.
Yeah, boring sunday morning
But I’m not ingame, so I could just ban cheaters when I get informed, and mostly I’m not avi
yeah, the first job would be to check for actual playtime on pubs.
If trust is an issue give limited powers, eg. kick and temp (24/48hr) ban. The temp ban would give time for the report to be filed, checked and verified. If there was an abuse of the power then it gets removed (that would include not filing reports). simple.

The current way it would work would be with an admin log in. With that password you have the ability to change quite a bit.
Guessing you cannot limit it either for now.
It’s an idea … and it’s got mileage … but to be honest admin rights are about as useful or as needed as a kick vote. I adminned on the Jolt servers for a few years and in all honesty I got it wrong a fair bit at the start…less so with more experience (at least imrho) and the reason I know that is because of the screenshot and playback facility for recording demos.
Without that facility, it’s just pure guesswork. I don’t care how experienced someone is. I’ve lost count of the amount of times i’ve watched someone track through a wall and nail someone with headshots, only to watch the video back and find there was nobody there …the guy came from the other direction…and equally i’ve watched many a well hidden player suddenly appear to have sixth sense (because spotting a cheater can sometimes be about what they ‘don’t do’ as much as what they do. Unless you have all the information it will always be a guess and you only get that info with a demo and shownormals etc
Vote kick is needed ! with a temp ban, much more efficient and no need of admins
Seems like someone was accidentally banned right? What is to prevent that from occurring with player admins?
I think votekick should be enough. I thought there was one in the game tucked behind the scenes in the console.

This is to solve the clearly obvious cheaters. I played yesterday and was getting killed by a pistol through a wall at a distance that stretched the length of the first stage of underground. It was clear he was cheating. This is the only type of cheater I would allow people with the admin password to kick. If it is just suspicious I suggest you leave it to nexon/splashdamage to sort out.
SD should assign control to selected users, but uh make the right choice, there’s a few hot heads that probably shouldn’t be allowed to have the power.

This is more about banning the really obvious hackers that kills you from spawn with a knife.
stuff like trigger bots and wall hacks there is nothing we can really do right now.
aimbots, speedhacks, telefrags and more can be easily seen. They are what I want to focus on.
True … but you either give someone the right to ban/kick or you don’t i:e there is no way the server can decide what is a legitimate moment for them to use an authority so, they would have the power all the time and make judgement calls accordingly. I like to think of myself as a nice guy with a clear head most of the time, but I also know that from time to time i’ve abused an authority in the past myself i:e some guy really taking the piss, mouthing off, warned a few times so they mouth off again and i’ve just thought " right, bye, kicked". In some ways justified, in others not perhaps…personal feelings should never come into it, but my point is simply that if you give someone authority, then you have to give it them 100% and trust them with it. In beta, I don’t think that’s really called for at the moment when on borderline cases there is no way to be sure without coming off the server, and in obvious cases it could be done by a simple ‘call vote’ … which can also be abused but not to the same extent
There is a very large distinction between ‘questionably good’ players and blatant hackers. I think we can compromise on rights to ban the obvious botters that wipe everyone on the server in a matter of seconds without trying to hide the fact that they are cheating. The less conclusive cases should always be passed on to SD or Nexon to investigate.
Correct… because if its not to the point where everyone wants to leave its obviously not a problem. There is good few great players in this game but none of them are so great that its “broken” lol. Personally as long as you pick other “good” players then I doubt there is going to be an issue with false positives… abuse however that is a different matter
Giving anyone power like that will only end in abuse or drama - no matter how trusted in the community you are.
I disagree… there are already people with Admin on stuff like the VIP servers and Reserved servers and not seeing many issues.
I am saying give it to 2 or 3 people not a huge chunk of the community where people start getting jelous and stuff
What do you prefer, cheaters emptying a whole server and moving to the next one to do the same or a potential abuse of community members?
As you are fairly new, I recommend you get to know the community here first and judge again. All the admin rights for VIPs or clan members has been working out great so far without any big trouble.

Why beat around the bush with band aids rather than solving the issue at hand - no anti-cheat. If there are already super users out there not being effective against the issue, how is just throwing more people into the pool going to solve it.
Increasing the amount of community admins will only bring more chance of someone making a rash or unfounded decision.

-.- there are NO community admins on the PUBLIC servers…
There ARE admins on the VIP and RESERVED (Clan War Servers)…
Hacking problem on Public and no problems on VIP/RESERVED…
