Give it a chance

I’m probably going to get alot of hate and abuse for this but tbh i couldn’t care less.

I;m fed up of reading posts about how this game sucks and it’s been rushed and bla bla bla.

For one, you can’t say it was rushed as it was delayed for a year and has been in development for a long time.

As for the game “sucking” or what have you, it’s not even out in Europe yet and SD have released a patch to fix some of the bugs it had, and it’s only been out 3 days, this type of game is bound to have bugs.

Just give them time to get them ironed out and more feedback and i’m sure this game will rock out with its …well you get where im going.

Everyones entitled to their own opinion and i appreciate that but just give them time to iron out the creases, if you still feel that the game sucks then, well then maybe this isn’t a game for you.

Anyway, let the abuse begin puts on helmet

If it was in development then why didn’t they bother doing proper testing before it came out? Something this serious should have gotten somebodies attention.

The patch hasn’t fixed anything game breaking at all, and still I hear peoples characters are getting deleted. It’s nice they released a patch day 1 but don’t try to sugar coat it saying it already fixed some of the problems.

Just give them time to get them ironed out and more feedback and i’m sure this game will rock out with its …well you get where im going.

I agree, but I still believe they should redo a lot of the menus and some of the game mechanics to give it more of a pc feel. Fixing the technical problems is only the first step for the game.

I’m not sure how highlighting the fact that the game’s been in development for longer than it should have been and has /still/ been released in a far less than perfect technical condition is a defense…

It has a rushed feel to it, no matter how long the dev time.

PS - I still love Brink.

While this “run and patch” tactic is now industry standard for a lot of publishers, it’s still disheartening for gamers when a title they’ve been following with great anticipation for years is released by a company they /know/ is more than competent in such an unfinished state.

Yes, they can patch it and fix it and most likely Brink will find its legs in a few weeks and many of the naysayers will come crawling back… first impressions, unfortunately, do count for a lot.

PS - I still love Brink.

Again, we are/will, but damage has been done to the rep of SD and their game and that’s a real shame.

Please don’t confuse people who think the game sucks because it’s been released in a beta format with the people who just don’t like the gameplay. There are a lot of people who love SD who feel let down by Brink, and rightly so.

Many of us thought Brink was going to be released to a slew of praise and crash passed the generic standard like a frenzied demon of creative passion and technical brilliance. This didn’t happen, and it could have happened, and it’s a shame.

PS - I stil… oh, I hope you get the idea by now…

Rha rha rha not COD rha rha!

I don’t think the not COD applies here. He has concerns about the technical state the game was released in. As for me, I agree it is unacceptable to release a multiplayer focused game that is essentially unplayable in multiplayer. With that out of the way, the none Kathy MATCH I played was so much damn fun I’m going to give them a couple weeks to iron things out. The customization is great and I love the smart system.

Did you even read what Codine or I wrote?

JUST FYI: COD is boring. My favourite online FPS games are TF2 and ET:QW, and I’ve not even played Black Ops.

Stop being a fevered fan and start putting some thought into your feedback. Perhaps you’d like to actually support this great dev company instead of laying into anyone who’s offering them valid critique?

Cheers.

How is the multiplayer unplayable? I’ve had at least 8 games so far and have only exit one of them because of a sound glitch.

tomorrow is the day “D” im already on sick leave for next 4 weeks:) just to play this game.

about comparising Brink and COD games… brink is unique game. We need to learn how to play it first. About minor issues … SD is not unknown game developer. They are doing their job on 110% and im sure in next patch or update everythinng will be fine.

As a lot already said in these forums, some points are important to know:

  • the game was delayed for 1 year, to polish it. So having those bugs seems really strange. They really should have done a large beta to find these issues penalizing a lot of players (ATI cards for instance). Sorry but it’s a SD fail here.

  • people who don’t know the game will look for a single player or a CoD gameplay, and they will whine because of this game being so different. Two reasons here: people not looking for infos, and SD (or Bethesda) failing in their ads. So, massive players fail, and partially SD fail

  • between these two, we have reviews from sites totally biaised … bashing the SP when the game never was SP based, bashing the game as if it would never get patches, bashing the game as if they never knew the game’s goal. Big big fail for the testers wanting to make their reviews so soon !

Those points explain why there are so many bad reviews now. I understand that people want to defend SD (the game is excellent, by the way, so they deserve our support), but let’s be honest too: they made mistakes that could cost them a lot of gamers.

Now that has been said, let’s encourage them to make the game even better for everyone, and be patient. The game’s worth it, SD is worth it, the community’s worth it too ! Just be fair, stop the full-rage/full-support and open your eyes.

I agreed with the entirety of your post, aside from this…

I could link you to multiple articles/videos that promise the SP is going to be just as important as the MP and just as good in terms of enjoyability.

SD are wonderful when they get it right, but its seems they bit off a little more than they should have.

Really ? Oh, I missed that then … but now that you say that, it makes sense with all the stuff they made about “The Ark” and all the lore.

(by the way, sorry for my bad english …)

Not a single thing wrong with your English, love how most people who’ve picked up English as a secondary language say this all the time, yet there’s nothing to complain about, yet most people who learnt English as their primary language brutalise it every damn time…

But anyway, that aside, I’m going to give this game a week to fix all these problems everyone’s been talking about, there’s quite a few games that have completely screwed up their NetCode so the Online is ridiculously laggy, so I’ll give it a fair time to fix it. However, I don’t even have the damn game yet as I’m in the UK, so as it stands I’ve got nothing to worry about except a little doubt…well, a lot of doubt actually, but hey, it’s all good…

And just to say, if this game is unplayable online until they were to patch it again and fix it, say if they were to get that done in a week or two…heaven forbid it isn’t already fixed by Friday…then I’ll just play Single Player until then…I know most people will probably be pissed that the Online is broken, but I’ll sit back and let Single Player and Challenge Mode suffice…
