Gib speed

(Scarhand) #21

Speed isn’t the issue. It is how much of a clip it takes to gib. And it takes too much of one.

As pretty much everyone else’s posts that I’ve read have said, consistency is the issue, give headshots and bodyshots equal gib hit multipliers and it would solve the consistency problem, then we can talk about whether it’s too fast or too slow.

But in general if we’re taking about bodyshots as-is then it’s too slow, current headshots applied to headshots and bodyshots would probably be too fast, so something in between, but nearer current headshots than bodyshots would be my best guess.

gib time seems fine, any quicker and medics would really suffer…

I agree with the people who have woes with the ragdoll bodies being hard to gib because they move around, that sucks.

I don’t think this is a problem at all. I like the fact that headshots do more damage. I like the current system / speed.

Knife - ok
HS - ok
Bodyshots - way too long (often more bullets than it takes to down the player!)

In the game Defiance when you’re incapacitated you can still crawl (very slowly) in whatever direction you chose.
If I hadn’t uninstalled it I’d post a video.

yes i’m playing that game too, something I crawl a long way  to get someone attention

(DJswirlyAlien) #29

At the moment its just right for pub games but I think maybe too short for competitive. I am getting the feeling this game might benefit from a causal game balancing and a competitive game balancing.

Random curve ball idea that might be cool. With if the overkill from when they were alive counted towards the gibbing of an incapped player? If it does already then it must be a good idea!

(Tandem) #30

1 gib, 1 second

(Sun_Sheng) #31

I agree with those who said it’s about right, but takes too much ammo as a percentage of what you start with. That said, that could probably be cured by FO’s and Rambo Stoker’s doing their job and handing some out so, not such a problem in clan matches, just pubs.

(tokamak) #32

It would be helpful if the corpses had a very rough indicator on how far they’re gone. Like blood spraying from wounds or desaturation, or how active their animation or something.

Then during the combat, if you pay attention you can discriminate between helping some unlucky chaps on their way with a few bullets while the stubborn wounded can be left alone because they’re not worth the ammor or effort.

(Humate) #33

Dont really know unfortunately…

Vassili insta-gib and knife seem adequate, but I have to up my playing time with a full server to really answer the question :frowning:

(Protekt1) #34

I think it takes too long. It doesn’t particularly add to the experience to have to shoot a dead body so many times. And if the leg hitbox reduces damage taken a lot, sometimes the way the player falls can heavily influence the time it takes to gib.

I think it should take less shots. Knifing it adequate to save extra ammo still.

(BomBaKlaK) #35

I’m ok with the actual gib speed, it makes medic a bit more usefull, if gib is to short then revive will become more useless.
