ghost lag???

now this is more of a feeling than anything concrete.

sometimes when i play i get the feel that there is some sort of desync issue.
what happens is that when in close quarters combat people i fought seem to lag behind and aim very far from the spot that im in (to much for just bad aim) and going full auto like if i was standing there.

the games witch this have been happening in i have had an excellent k/d and felt like im dominating, this is very much out of character for me:)

ps it is not a ping issue as ive monitored this (my own, server and opponents) and my pc can take the game to 200 fps so probably not hardware

so im wondering if this is all in my head or if anyone had similar experiences

Hmmm, I’m not really sure I understand what you mean - but, it sounds like a server-side issue, rather than your connection (as you said, your ping is fine). It may be related to the random occasional server crashes/mass-disconnects…

However, only Nexon can really answer this xD If what you said is happening, then there’s certainly some element of lag there - beit you, the server or your opponent. :s

You can abuse the netcode of this game really hard with preshooting around corners, works really well with shotguns. If you can see your enemies via heartbeat sensor its possible to oneshot them with a preshot to the head before your player model even appears on their screen.

Also you can abuse the netcode by keep shooting at people even tho they are already around corners, i had quite a few headshots on players while they where no longer visible on my screen but just around the corner. hell, i’ve even done it many times with Vas MOA Sniper.

Another trick i like to do with Phantom is peek corners with invis, line up for headshots and then back around the corner while unloading my smg, often i hear dink dink dink dink without seeing a player on my screen. if you keep breakign your invis for peeking you only have 2 ~ 3 cooldown on it and can really screw the incoming spawnwaves.

The downside of the wonky netcode that it also can happen to you and ive died many times to preshots fired from around a corner and also died many times while i was already behind cover but somehow the headshot magicly connects.

Melee is also hugely affected by this, often aiming directly at your enemies will cause you to miss and tracking with melee weapons is a thing of the past now making it sometimes a rather infuriating experience, because it feels like you are swinging a 1 inch utility blade at a person instead of a 4 foot long katana.

Atleast you can somewhat compensate for the awkard melee by using prediction but it will still fail 9 out of 10 times when you face lightning fast classes, because they prolly are dodging your melee predictions without even realizing it, just because of their speed.

I’m trying to enjoy dirty bomb, but it gets really hard sometimes, especially with the melee BS.

Edit: forgot to mention I’m the only user on this 100mb fiber connection with an avarage ping of <20
