it’s become so annoying seeing the battlefield exploding every 5 seconds practically, literally all day i’ve only been in rooms where EACH SIDE has had 3-4 skyhammers. really wish there was a global cooldown for that thing =.=
Getting sick of the airstrike spam
I would recommend staying away from anything over 6 vs 6. As you cram more and more players on a small map, explosive spam becomes more viable and more players start doing it. This game was obviously meant to be balanced around 5 vs. 5.
There will never be a global cooldown on a skill.
It doesn’t seem to stop people from winning attack battles. Hell, mines seem to be a larger killer than Airstrikes because they just lay there and kill over zealous people trying to turn in objectives.
It can be a bit much when your EV is stopped every three feet, but like the other person said smaller player counts help a lot, and it doesn’t happen as much if your team is able to push the enemy team back, but then again, your team (or at least some of it) is supposed to be escorting the EV. I dunno, I’m no game balance expert hah. I kinda wish there was a 5v5 option on the server browser. Is that in competitive? If so then I wish it wasn’t competitive only!

They usually aren’t that much of a problem 
honestly skyhammers airstrikes are really easy to dodge, it’s a freaking flare. once you see it jusr run for shelter. yes it may be annoying to have multiple airstrikes, but it has a 1 minute cooldown and people don’t just spam them because of that, they wait for the right moment

Your team made three mistakes. Your had three players with engineers, none of them seems to be using them. As much air strikes are annoying they have long cooldown, repair doesn’t. The only thing I want them to fix about airstrike is the thunder of incoming jet disappearing because someone deployed another airstrike few seconds before you. Also the airstrike marker should be visible on the minimap too, I get killed behind walls too often because I can’t see it coming.
This is going bit offtopic, but I really like suggestions like this that add more functionality to minimap. After it’s made essential enough, possible merc abilities that would disable or hinder it among other things, like EMP waves, would become actually considerable!
But yeah, in unorganized pub goof-about even if whole defending team is rocking Skyhammer, usually multitude of them unleash their AirStrikeSupreme at the same time once EV is fixed once. So all alert Engi has to do is come after the dust settled and repair it again for easy xp and profit. He can do it as long as he’s alive, unlike hammah’s who wait for the CD.

I think the biggest mistake was there being 6/7 players as Skyhammer. Besides that, defense on Chapel has very little use for engineers and as soon as I noticed all the Skyhammers, I switched to medic and someone else switched to medic shortly after as well.
