aslong as u have an option it should be ok, dont use it if u dont like how it feels. Or figure out the best way to use it in certain scenarios
hardcore players like yourselves will just sidestep this altogether.
Why thankyou

Completely missed Smooth’s response again. Makes us all look retarded when we keep going on our merry way “ignoring” the dev who has cleared the issue up lol.
Well letting the button is ok for me .Also when u play i think u ll get the hang of the right distance. So its is not much of big diasdvanatge.Love the quick responses from Brink’s team:-D
Jep, getting a feel when you just have to tap the button will be pretty easy.
well i guess someone should’ve told the jounalist playing to release the button before falling off the ledge
Maybe I’m just being grumpy but when did hardcore/dedicated gamer get defined as the ability to circumvent game functions rather than learning the game to a high level?
I’m calling this yet more console accessibility design being spun with some loaded and cute wording.
Oh, cool then. That’s not so bad. If the guy needs the buff/support that badly he can just sit still for a second. Thanks for clearing that up.
Unless… the timer is running out and you want really bad to win the round
Play FTW always! :stroggtapir:
So no draging if you are in range, so that is good to hear (I thinght maybe it drug your for a 1/2 second or so while the animation played). Obviously it’s a lot less disturbing if you can just cancel out, but it could also be too late.
That said, maybe if there were some kind if indicator on the icon that you are out of range (like a red halo around it or something) so you know before hand that when you press use you’ll get dragged?
You want to clutter the HUD even further? Anything that makes you take your eyes off what is happening unnecessarily is bad imo.
The icon is already there, just make it a little different when you are out of range. No more clutter, just more info.
Just switching it off would be ideal, a crosshair indicator would be a nice addition to that but I don’t think it would solve the, “Here you go buddy, oh WTF I fell off that ledge. I’m clearly so not hardcore”.
Lets just have the option and file these console oriented tweaks under the menu section called ‘Player Assists’.
Would also be nice to know if the clipping through walls thing is fixed.
if the threshold is adjustable, I see no problem

yes, I agree, this troubles me more than anything else
“Rambo” medics were bad enough, “Hidey” medics would be worse
Although… I’ll be missing the resupply spots where the team stacks up goodies, and this happened anywhere on the map. The good thing about it was that we had access to ammo and health even if you were the last player alive.
Too bad we won’t be able to use this strategy any more since ammo and health packs won’t stay on the world map for awhile.
It is good way to be in combat while passively healing and giving ammo to teammates, giving us the chance to be on the fight. Its true that doesn’t sound good medics healing without being there but picking ammo off the ground should be there, because giving ammo does not require a university degree.
Have no idea how ammo supply works at CP, but surely a CP is not portable so it’s not exactly what I was saying… it’s common use in wolfentein, quake wars even in bad company 2 to gather anywhere on the map supplies to passively do the job without the player being there.
In brink the player has to do it actively, be always present at the moment of resupply either ammo or health, as I understood.
