It seems like after each update something goes wrong, this time servers. I live in finland and play on EU servers (no way), but after the update every server i join is somehow weird. My ping goes all the way up to 450-500. Regularly i get a solid 50-60, so please, i really like the game but playing with a ping of 480 is not possible. Also my frames are dropping to 30 from the 50-70 i had pre-patch.
EDIT: got a ping of 40 for a game so it’s not every time.
Get your game together SD
As far as I know, there’s still some RAM overload issues that might virtually increase your ping and crush your framerate. If you still have those weird pings after rebooting your router, that might be the case here. They’ve always been there, although less present for me recently. Relaunching steam or your computer should solve it.
I play on EU servers too, but they aren’t all in one place. Some are in London and I get a ping of around 5-10, while others are in eastern europe, where I get a ping of above 70. Make sure you are playing on the correct region of EU, and if you need to, filter by ping limit in the server browser.
If you are still having problems, make a post on the bug forums about it

How can I tell the difference if all servers are named “EU”? Not like I’m having issues with my ping, at least as long as quickjoin won’t send me to the US East (which it does several times a day), but I’m just curious. Eastern Europe here
I thought all EU servers were in London.
I’m in the central part of Europe. Well, according to to popular division that slices Europe along the iron curtain line, it’s eastern Europe. My ping to all EU servers is in the 40-60 range. Doesn’t look like the continental EU servers are far to the east, I think they are somewhere in the Belgium-Netherlands area.
@Faraleth
i already use a limit if 150 in the browser, and there the ping is around 70 on all EU servers, but when i enter the game, my ping often skyrockets.
@sixten
before the update my ping was around 70 as i stated in the original post. my internet connection most likely isn’t the reason
Well, in that case it would be nice to know what EU servers are what just like there’s US West and East.
But I hardly think that’s the issue when if OPs ping goes from 50-60 to 450-500 after an update (personally I haven’t experienced ping going all over a place but I’ve heard few people having this problem before but I’ve experienced some frame drops after few updates).
Also, Finland ain’t super far away from Eastern Europe (for us Finns it’s right around the corner) and… well, look at that, England ain’t super far either.
(Surprise surprise, for somebody who lives in Northern Europe, Southern Europe servers in video games can be unpleasant… but that’s pretty much about it)
Yeah, right. It’s only him complaining, and the thread by Noxie where many people complained about it can be fully ignored. Inform yourself before you make such claims.

Good rig + good internet, never had a problem with this game.

It’s situational. If whole servers of players have a terrible ping that is constantly fluctuating or other performance issues then it’s most likely the data center having ISP issues. It could also be that particular game server having issues or the machine that hosts a number of game servers. Or even the server software having issues. But it could also be a player’s issue with their ISP yet they blame the game because it’s the “easiest fix”. Then there are people like @srswizard who is on a particular connection that has routing issues that he, his ISP or the data center can’t control.
Troubleshooting network issues can be pretty rough. Which tends to lead a lot of people down the, “blame something else” route.
There are methods that can be used to find out what the issue is affecting a person. The question is does the person reporting the issue want to do that and know for themselves what the problem is or do they just want to get angry and blame somebody else and hope the problem goes away?

So? I don’t understand how this corresponds to the thread.

Hes not the only one having problems shortly after updating the game. Read ingame-chat.

I have a good rig and good connection. And awesome ping on EU. 12-32 depending on server. Still have many disconnects and heavy rubberbanding after the update.
Did not play Dome yet. Since I am really not in the mood for DB till they fix the Trade-in Shit.
But if you by any chance play Dome, tell me what you think, ok? Because this map kills most of my fps since the update and I wonder if I’m alone.
It’s 70-80 FPS but stutters and rubberbands as all other maps.
And Russian lvl 3 kids are even better now at killing people with headshots.
The problem was my internet after all. I just got information that the company had some problems, but everything should be fine now. @Faraleth Feel free to close this post, it was pointless after all
