Get Up Overpowered ?

(Eox) #1

Am I the only one to think this ?

That perk allows one to revive an ally with 50% more health. It already feels pretty powerful just by reading the description, and it’s definitely not only a feel. It’s at a point that you can almost consider the get up perk as a mandatory perk for Medics. We’re all trying to get that augment, and use it right ? So do I.

While there definitely should be augments that are a bit stronger, Augments are not supposed to be such a huge game changer right ? Okay there’s Unshakeable and Double Time also, but are they even on the same level than Get Up ?

Am I wrong if I say that it might need some kind of nerf ?

If you gib, it’s a worthless perk

(Yes) #3

That’s the same as saying medics are worthless if you gib. :expressionless:

And to answer OP, you aren’t alone in thinking it’s easily the best perk. It feels to me that loadouts for medics without Get Up are almost always worthless due to how strong it is.

The perk itself is fine. You don’t need it, without it you can still revive people just fine. But, big surprise, it makes reviving easier on the class that is mostly used for reviving.
What you’re looking at is the result of having mediocre general purpose perks. How about buffing those instead…

While it does seem OP at start I learned to understand that I barely even see medics use it and when they do I just shoot the bodies before they can revive them, only problem is rhino that has his crotch turned to you and there is an aura station nearby, then it is a completely different story.

Get Up and Ushakeable and top tier augments, nothing else comes close.

(Szakalot) #7

it could easily be 25% more hp, and people would still pick it over the other abilities (+radius for aura/phoenix, better cooldown, potent packs)

Get Up is, IMO, the most powerful augment in the game by a solid margin. There are other good ones but Get Up is one of the few that is considered required and might actually be the only one. Even Unshakeable, giving a Fragger the ability to survive a direct grenade, isn’t as consistently useful.

I honestly can’t believe it’s stuck around in it’s current form the way it has. Especially after Potent Packs was nerfed quite a while back which never was that great of an augment.

It’s all in what you want out of your play. If

If you gib, it’s a worthless perk
Well, no, because every medic has healing which is extremely valuable on its own. Without FF, you are relying on your enemy killing a person to take advantage of get up, but if they are smart they will be gibbing as a reflex. Thereby making your entire perk an empty spot in that case.
That isn’t to say it isn’t an extremely valuable perk, but many other ones give you a full time benefit as well and not just situational where you do get the revives off. It isn’t and OP perk, it is arguably a BiS perk, but not OP.
Medics without get up are far from “almost worthless”, but medics with it are stronger.

On the bright side, it makes those times when the resident Aura players light tap revive you and you jump up with 30 hp bearable.

First of all, I suck at medic, and I don’t play female characters, so please remind me if I lack knowledge.

I actually don’t really think it is OP with the other medics with defibrillator, but I would have to say it is totally different, when it combines with Sparks.

I gotta say those synergy between the REVIVR and Get Up is astounding.

Get Up option is for filling up some medic’s disadvantage like Aura(reviving team mates far from the station), but making Sparks not even have to full-charge her gun…?

I think this deserves quite consideration. (Not saying it must be nerfed, or OP.)

rest of the medic? I think it is just a quite good option.

for Sawbonez, I thought it was useless becuase I would just revive the guy instantly, and direct hit health pack. But I was quite wrong.

not vital, but very good option for rest of the medic, bit too powerful with Sparks.

That’s my opinion.
