This is one of those obvious videos… I’m waiting on the one with the control layout, or class specific tips.
Get SMART Series: The HUD [Episode 4]
The master returns
I think most people know this and are slowly educating the uninformed
Ye I think a respawn timer is a must, always helped me in W:ET. Like coordinating attacks, checking if it’s worth it to wait for a medic at spawn, knowing when the enemy spawns etc.
It could be completly left at the screen, at the same height as the XP bar.
Even better, the mission remaining time and object completion timer could be both much smaller and the resapwn timer would then be under them.

but then the console players wouldn’t see them from their couch!
judging from the get smart videos so far grenade throwing looks like it takes a long time. i wonder why this is.
Grenade cooking. Grenade timer starts on pressing button. Throws on release of button. Apparently universal, not unlocked.
used to be a ton of people did that in quake wars, ud be fighting a guy and OOP /kill. Used to piss me off to no end. So personally i hope u cant see the respawn timer to keep douchebags from using that tactic again.
Someone cares about their K/D ratio too much?
If someone /kill’s infront of me that’s up to them
One less thing between me and my objective
SD said that all 3 platforms were made independently from each other, so PC could still have it.

This.
I’ll admit, it was certainly a bit frustrating to put the work into stopping somebody only to have them reject the satisfaction for the kill… but either way you stopped them from defending or attacking a bit longer.
It was a mechanic that some people used to their advantage, like it or not. I’m sure there’ll be similar deals that people will take advantage of in Brink. It’s human nature.
doubt they bothered to make platform specific HUD’s…
I hope we won’t be greeted by “Press START” messages, though.

I heard Portal 2 got that for the PC
Is that why you brought it up?
P2 goes straight to a HL2-style menu (with extra sexeh) after an initial loading screen
Similar to the first game infact, but I guess I call it a HL2 menu out of habit
heh
