German version - multilanguage?

(PsYcHo) #1

Hey guys,
sorry If (and i think so) this got already asked here, but I couldnt find anything with searching.
Did SD or Bethesda said anything about the available languages for the german version?
Is it multilanguage? Is english avaiable?
Because I usually play my games with english language. It just sounds better

Thanks in advance!
PsYcHo

Sollte multilingual sein. Auf Konsolen sowieso, auf PC hƤngt’s wahrscheinlich wie immer von deinen Steam-Einstellungen ab.

I really hope for the free choice of languages, theres nothing more I hate than playing games in german language, no offense (:

(shedim) #4

Nope, I’ve got language set to English and I still end up with German language and stuff. That’s why I started ordering games in the UK.

(PsYcHo) #5

I hope its changeable @ steam…
Could a dev maybe say something to that? Would be cool!

@shedim: yea, but I want to have it on releaseday :stuck_out_tongue: amazon.uk normaly sends from germany if you order there. But like I heard they don’t do that with pre-orders.

(ClickClickBOOM) #6

However this looks good.
Language file with preloaded english files.

(shedim) #7

Just get the Direct2Drive.co.uk digital pack, if you want the Psycho-pack and don’t care about booklet, package, disc and stuff. It’s 22,46GBP=26€ and you’ll be able to preload it soon and play it right on release.

I HATE German voice-acting in games, too.

(PsYcHo) #8

But I actually care about that things shedim

@ClickClickBoom: Yea, that could be a good sign.

(badman) #9

The German console version of Brink does not come with the English language files. Plan your purchases appropriately.

(TAPETRVE) #10

Not even the PS3 version?

(ClickClickBOOM) #11

Badman, how about the PC version?

(kilL_888) #12

when badman says that the german CONSOLE version does not have english language, do you think the ps3 is an exception? isnt the ps3 a console?

(PsYcHo) #13

This. What about the PC version?

(TAPETRVE) #14

Well, there’s absolutely no excuse, since there’s more than enough space on a BR for two language packs. Hell, a DVD should be enough for a game of BRINK’s kind to allow for both English and localized version to fit on one disk.

Well, whatever. I just canceled my preorder and ordered from the UK instead. No harm done, it’s even cheaper that way. And I get an Anger mask.

lol, I wonder if people in Quebec get a french version only, the Quebecers actually have language police making sure French is the dominant language in signage

nothing to do with the german language.

The original voice over is always better than its dubs.

Im pretty sure the gothic series from piranha bytes sounds way better in german than it does in english.

the same is true for movies…
hollywood movies are better in english, but there is no way the english voice over for ā€œdas leben der anderenā€ even compares to the german original.(if there even is a dub for it, they probably just go with subtitles to avoid stupid translations and bad voice acting)

(TAPETRVE) #17

Well, sometimes a dub can be kind of ā€œbetterā€ - that is, when a film is reworked e.g. into a comedy, like those Bud Spencer movies.

Dont laugh to early shedim^^ I mean, he said that there’s no english @ console versions. So that sounds like you can change it in the PC version. But its not really confirmed with that.
Badman?

On okaysoft.de, there’s the German PC version and the Austrian PC version for pre-order. While the Austrian version seems to support German and English language, the German version supports German only. If that is true, I’d say you’re screwed.

Let’s hope you’ll be able to select the voice pack you want and not get stuck with the German voice acting, since being limited to 1 language only is kinda meh.
