German translation (longtime) bugs

Hey Devs,

maybe you can fix this little translation bugs during the summer squash for the german version.

1.

This is really an old bug. I think it’s there since I started playing dirty bomb in June 2015. Maybe that can confuse new player…
“NEBEL-VOLUMEN” don’t makes any sense, don’t know where you got that translation.
In English it would be “fog - volume”, don’t makes sense either.
The correct translation for “match just started” would be “Spiel gerade erst begonnen”.

2.

This one came with the new crafting system.
“DUPLIKATE RECYCELN” - correct
“EISEN-LOADOUT-CARDS RECYCELN” - you can translate “CARDS” to “KARTEN”. But then you have to translate it everywhere you used “LOADOUT-CARDS” into “LOADOUT-KARTEN”, e.g. in the barracks.
“BLEI-EISEN-CARDS RECYCELN” - here is the important bug, “EISEN” has to be replaced with “LOADOUT”.

3. At the end of the map loading screen is a textfield which says “press any key”, it isn’t translated into german. You can traslate it into “Drücke eine Taste” if you want.

Ah, and I have one question:
Why the dirty bomb font isn’t used in the german version?

Maybe I can edit more german translation bugs if desired.

Update 1:

VERLOSUNGEN = UNENTSCHIEDEN :smile:

This bug is really annoying, “Verlosungen” is totally wrong!

Update 2:

ouh that’s confusing

I think “Lege unerwünschte Loadout-Karten hier ab, …” would sound better than “Lasse unerwünschte Loadout Cards hier fallen, …” as well.

Yeah, you’re right

There is a german version? :o Got the english version installed. Maybe because my windows has the english version. I had not been asked for the instal language.

“The correct translation for “match just started” would be “Spiel gerade erst begonnen”.”
That is a baaad grammar my friend. Better is: “Das Spiel hat gerade begonnen”

“Lege unerwünschte Loadout-Karten hier ab, …”
-> Ziehe unerwünschte Karten auf diese Fläche, um sie zu recyceln und gegen Fragmente einzutauschen.

Didn’t have the English original text to check at the time of posting, but yours is indeed closer to the original.

Generally speaking, infinitive constructions sound more elegant.

Unerwünschte Karten auf diese Fläche ziehen, um sie zu recyceln und gegen Fragmente einzutauschen. And are usually the standard in manuals and instructions.

Yeah that sounds better, but there is no article in the other progress information “Spiel läuft bereits” and “Spiel endet bald”. Maybe adding them is a way. Otherwise “Spiel hat gerade begonnen” without an article sound good, too.

Wow, the english text is so short and wtf did they with the translation :hushed:
Your translation is awesome.
