I’ve been looking at some of the other games SD has tackled before and I’ve noticed a bit of a pattern. Rad Soldiers, Tempo and of course, Dirty Bomb all tackle similar topics. Nuclear attacks in London and people fighting to prevent the worst or salvage what’s left. Well, in Rad Soldiers bombs also fall in Rio de Janeiro, but I’m more interested in the connection between Tempo and DB anyways.
So, in Tempo, some guy threatens to bomb London unless someone gives him one trillion pounds, right? The whole game is you and your squad trying to fight and defuse the various bombs scattered around the city in order to save it from exploding. Now, I haven’t ever watched the ending of the game, but I’m willing to bet you face the maniac that set London to explode and manage to stop him.
…Or everything goes wrong and boom goes the dynamite.
Now, if the latter happened, it could serve as an explanation to the, and I quote, “mysterious radiological attacks” that start the events in DB. Further proof to the link between the two games are the casting of the same voice actors in both of the games and the use of similar, sometimes exactly the same, objects used in both the games. Bushwhacker’s Turret, Turtle’s Shield, the device you use to quickly disarm bombs… the list goes on and on. Oh, and Stoker in all the three games. So there’s also that.
I’m probably reading too much into the situation and this is just a case of having an idea and trying to find the right angle to approach it. There are holes in my theory too so that only further proves that I’m wrong. I’d love to hear your thoughts anyways.
Also, devs, if you are reading this, give us moar lore! ok thx
