Generic Gameplay

Is how alot of people seem to play BRINK.

I think people forgot about the whole SMART thing.
Like I see people running around obstacles instead of bunny hopping over them sliding under a piper and taking the opponent off the MG with your scoped-out SMG.

If you playing boring then game will obviously be just that; boring.

This is a fun game, experiment.

I don’t know what you’re talking about. I ALWAYS used the smart system. That’s why I prefer the light body.

While SMART is supposed to get the game to flow smooth and fast, it doesnt do it like you’d imagine. Yes you can climb and slide under stuff, but sadly not many maps even take advantage of any of that. Most of the SMART system is used for is just for climbing up to different places which is nothing special. Just because you can hold down a single button and do all of this doesn’t make it something unique. In the long run the smart system is nothing special and without it the game is pretty generic.

They could have made the slide longer and given you other parkour moves to make it fresh, but SMART is pretty boring. Even if you’re light, wall jumping is neat but its really only used for flanking. This game has no flashy firefights.

More so speaking of games I have recently witnessed.

Whether you say it’s minor, SMART does make a difference to gameplay if used right. But yes the slide could have been abit longer, maybe not Bulletstorm long but a tiny bit longer.

One thing I’d like to see more in the maps are things you can slide under to be safe. In one of the trailers a character slid under a closing door.

Ah yes lol the bug was cool in that trailer.

“Phew” for a second I thought you were saying Brink is generic and I was like 'WWWHHHAAATTTT THIS AINT COD OR KILLZONE"

You’re doing it wrong  Seriously! or playing with the wrong crowd. These are some of the best shoot outs ive ever had in an FPS because of smart and all the cool stuff to slide behind

The issue with SMART in combat is that the vast majority of the time it gets you killed, as the movement to climb / mantle etc is very predictable and someone crouching / ironsighting can hit you fairly accurately while you can’t hit a barn door with the massive recticle.

Hence it’s main use is to flank or run away, with the exception being the slide knockdown at very close range and then spray with an smg.
