There has been an ongoing issue in DB when it comes to gameplay that involves interaction, and that specifically is a weird delay / cancellation of the interaction in and of itself.
For example, I can remember when I first got into the alpha, pressing the activate button to build a barrier on London Bridge for example… I would get into a safe spot, press the key to build the objective, and it would build for a half second and then stop… and I would need to reset it and hit the key again – but what felt like was happening was the key from the previous attempt was ‘queued’ so when I restarted it, it re-restarted it… and stopped. So I constantly felt I was always a step behind.
I noticed the same behavior persisting in ‘activating’ objectives (in this case, returning them). And for the brief time I spent on London Bridge this patch, I noticed the former persisting.
