I’ve been wondering for cards in GEN1 that have meh perks that were improved in GEN2 and cards in GEN2 turned out worse because the GEN1 was better.
Can we pay a fee for turning a card into a GEN1/2? it’ll cost 35K to do this, what do you all think?

Yep, it’s quite weird that they still haven’t addressed the issue of paying customers useless, obsolete Gen 1 ‘special’ cards.
It’s a real shame because I wanted to purchase some of those crafting kits when they were cheap during crafting week, but I refuse to give SD / Nexon anymore money until they address the issue.
We had a thread where people were expressing their disgust at the current situation, but that was closed by a @RazielWarmonic with the message ‘Please do not bump threads, We are already aware of the issue’.
4+ months since the release of Gen 2 cards, nothing.
For all this talk of more communication and shoe’s ‘sorry guys’ videos, the silence is deafening.

35k seems reasonable, but also kinda crappy towards Paying players. Oh holy wait a minute, editing a post because that’s genius and you helped me think of something else.

I guess they need to pick and choose their battles, they’ve chosen the bug battle for the moment. This is why I think a public roadmap would be nice, we could see where this sits and if we can expect it to be revisited in the near or far future.
I believe I closed the last thread because I have stated multiple times that we will be implementing a system to make those special edition cards “useful” once again, however we have no ETA as it’s not a priority at the moment.

Oh no, the useful is in quotation marks. I dread what “creative” (you see what I did there?) solution they will come up with for a simple community wish.

Excuse me I said nothing of the sort please do not put cute puppie eyes in my mouth
Not that I necessarily disagree that this isn’t a major priority (gibe maps) but given how that set of changes (2nd gen) pissed off at least a part of your paying customer base shouldn’t it sit somewhere not insignificant in terms of priority? It seems a bit dismissive to just say “shut up, we know about it but we’re not doing anything about it for a while”, though I know that isn’t your decision. This issue predates the trading up changes as well, to those who have sunk money into the game for cards it’s likely even more frustrating that this is just another thing to kick around.
Let me summarise my feelings a bit:
What do we have an ETA on?
It will be probably somewhere along the lines of: “We know you paid a lot of money to obtain these cards, but if you give us some more money we will make them useful again, because we are so nice towards our paying customers.”
These are my useless cards atm, I think it shows i’m a loyal paying customer.

So you’re suggesting we should have the ability to interchange between GEN1/2 free? It does make sense but still something feels off about getting the ability to interchange between GEN1/2 without payment of some sort… Or maybe I’m just being insane

Gen 2 was introduced, by SD’s own admission, as a measure to improve loadout balance. For a game that supposedly is in beta. Yet, after I don’t even know how many months, there is somehow no way at all to convert special cards to gen 2. If that was truly the only reason, there should be an option to convert your gen 1 cards in to gen 2 cards, with cost ranging from free (when the only difference is a deprecated augment like Cool) to X amount credits for any card for the same merc with the same primary. From the first day of gen 2.
This is not rocket science. Implementing an option like I described above (or something similar) does not take months. In the meantime we got a one time ReV custom UI and crafting. There was time for that. So this is NOT about priorities, development time etc.
SD abandoned the idea of balancing augments in gen 1 loadouts against each other (which is good) and just decided to start anew with loadouts (also great), but they think that the side effect of throwing existing players under the bus their is fine. It is not.
Seriously, the interval between gen 2 introduction and Humble Bundle skins was mere weeks, but even those cannot be updated to gen 2. This is not how you should treat your beta players. The developer of a game in beta should go above and beyond in situations like this to make sure that the players do not feel cheated.
What is worse is that they have learned nothing
This was evident with the introduction of crafting - a system worse for a significant amount of veteran players was dropped without warning. The “we are sorry” temporary cost reduction that still was in some aspects worse than the old trade up system.
Honestly then throw a pen at whoever makes these decisions and get the ball rolling please.
It’s been more than 4 months since Gen 2 cards were released, and you’ve known of our negative feelings since day dot. You’ve been able to create this new crafting system since then, how hard would it be to add something for SE cards?
Get the dude who made the crafting system working on this for 3-4 hours per day (8 hour work days in the UK right?) and let’s see what you got next week.
ez
I just want a way to craft a Gen 2 CR42 Sawbonez in a high tier, and then downgrade it to Gen 1 CR42 so it’s actually good.
Well, you can always just buy a bronze gen 1 CR42 from the store for 17k credits

So much true about the time needed to implement a gen 1 to gen 2 option . . .
. . . but let’s face it : they probably plan to milk some money out of it. And planning takes time indeed . . .
