Geheseim Warenhaus first alpha is released!

From the readme:

This version of Geheseim Warenhaus (First alpha) is made for gameplay testing only! So there is everything that is needed for it and 
some basic details. The map will be tweaked and detailed when making progress to the further versions.

Objective:

Timelimit 20 minutes
Axis spawntime 20 seconds
Allies spawntime 25 seconds

Axis:

1. Build the Ramp to get your way to the Forward flag, or do the obj. 2
2. Destroy the Gate/Door to get the access to the Forward Flag. Blowing this will secure the Forward Flag for the axis
3. Capture the Forward flag, or do the obj. 2, for easier access to the Secret Documents (spawn nearer)
4. Build the command post to get 25% decrease on charge time
5. Satchel the barrier, for faster access to the Secret Documents
6. Steal the Secret Documents
7. Transmit the Secret Documents and win the map

Allies:

1. Prevent axis from building the Ramp
2. Prevent axis from  destroying the Gate/Door
3. Hold the Forward flag
4. Build the command post to get 25% decrease on charge time
5. Keep on building the barrier as axis destroys it
6. Protect the Secret Documents
7. Prevent axis from transmitting the Secret Documents

I don’t have the time right now to give you further info or screenshots. Erls, you can continue from this… And give the server ip etc. I’ll make better command map when I have time. But not before feedback…

edit. hopefully there isn’t too much bugs, since I rush to release the gameplay test version. And didn’t test it a lot. :lol: Just made sure objs. etc worked as they should. And the map loads etc.

Well, its basicly as Sage said. Its a basic axis attack, designed primarily for 6v6 to 12v12 matches.

I request that this alpha version not be used for public matches, but instead it is here in case you care to DL it and check it out yourself.

Objectives remind me of adlernest a bit.

First part might be a bit small for 6v6 competition (its pretty much just one big room).

The second part seems to have a lot of unneeded rooms. Like, allies can get to the docs without seeing 2/3 of that last area. Those 2/3 seem pretty pointless, but the last half of the map would probably be quite small without them.

The allied spawn in the second part of the map comes out in some odd places, and imo the passage to the transmitter would be quite unfair.

Graphicly… well, tbh, the last half of the map is SLIGHTLY better than Wolfenstien 3D :stuck_out_tongue:
Actually, I think Wolf3D has more textures :stuck_out_tongue:

But that can certainly be improved for the next version.
For example, first version of adlernest looked kinda similar to that, now it looks… better (so long as you don’t compare it to something like praetoria or vesivus :p).

I really rushed on the stuff to get the test version out. Erls damn. :stuck_out_tongue: You have misspelled it wrong too… :smiley: I copied the name from the to do list… :smiley: So nothing is final yet, as this is for testing the gameplay textures doesn’t matter.

@Der’saidin thx for feedback. You are quite right. Even I get still lost on the corridors … :smiley: The shortcut for the transmitter is for defending reasons. If there wouldn’t be it and if there is nobody behind the lines axis would just rush to the transmitter and win the game all the time… And bringing depth to the game imo. Ok It can be pretty unfair since now it’s easy to backra… axis, but don’t think it’s too bad. However now it’s great mess, and I like mess… :stuck_out_tongue: I think something needs to be done for the gameplay though. But that’s why we released it… ^^

Edit. I guess nobody knows how to type it right lol. The name is so wierd. :smiley: Don’t say it’s bad though.

Edit:

I would translate “Warenhaus” as some kind of supermarket.

Thanks for all the comments so far. I’m in the process of re-designing the second section of the map a bit, to reduce confusion as well as include very room in a necessary strategy.

There could be something between the entrance and the hall where is ramp and the door. Then the allies would use the hall to defense, now it’s more like they toss nades and shoot from the balcony, except the rambos of course. There could be like two halls between the forward flag and entrance spawn. Now the focal point is the ramp I guess, but It could be the line between the two halls, then it would be easier to defend I guess. This is quite “ugly” still as we didn’t do any further stuff to it, since this was again to mention, for gameplay testing.

Don’t know german but for finnish guy “Lagerhaus” sounds more like a pub, beerhouse… :smiley:

You are right with the translations, I checked at the dictionary. But for a FINN, who don’t know germany it sounds like beerhouse. :lol:
