This bug involves the turret that is overseeing the node delivery objective, the one in the building across the street. I was playing Arty and dispensed an ammo pack in front of the turret, and as soon as I mounted the turret, the turret was unable to fire shots, no firing animation was played, nor’ was there firing sound effect played. The heating animation was still intact however. I then tried dismounting the gun but was stuck.
Reproduction Steps
- Dispense ammo pack in front of turret
- Mount turret
This was done only with Arty, an ammo support class, and I am assuming other ammo dispenser classes are capable of causing the same erroneous behavior of the turret(no shots, no fire animation, etc.) and between the turret and the player(player cannot dismount from turret). Maybe other non-ammo dispenser classes can replicate this with their items.
I’m attempting to find a Trainyard Objective/Stopwatch game at the moment and am hoping to get to the ending so I can record it in action(this is proving more difficult than I previously thought).
Speculation
This perhaps can be replicated outside of Trainyard and in either map in any gatling turret location that has a structure close enough in front of it to bridge that structure and the turret with an ammo pack.
Update
- Bug was successfully replicated in map Terminal in Objective mode, during the first objective(blowing up the wall), at the first gatling turret overseeing the stairs. Speculation is that much closer to being proven.
