Gameplay camera zoomed way out

(TheBoss) #1

I bought Brink three days ago and have been enjoying it thoroughly since, but today an error occurred where while I’m in gameplay, the camera is further back on the gun then normal. Open the attachment to see. It’s really annoying. How do I fix this?

Press Ctrl+Alt+~ (if using a QWERTY keyboard) or Ctrl+Alt+² (on an AZERTY keyboard)
The developper console should pop up.

then type “seta ui_fov 80” (without the quote). You should see the difference immediatly.
You can set it the way you want. 70 is the default value but it’s designed for consoles so it’s a bit low. I use a Field Of View of 85° which is rather nice. Feel free to experiment.

On your screenshot, it looks like you switched to a fov like 100° or 110°.

When do you press Ctrl+Alt+~ And when you do the ~ do you press shift or just press the button ?

The developer console has been “hidden” in most recent games. So you need a longer key combination to get in.

Unless you enable it for quick access by changing a cvar, then you can access with just ` (no shift).

seta com_allowConsole 1

Note: shift itself is not actually used on either method. It’s just people sometimes called the key the ~ key. Cause it's easier to read on screen, and some chat boxes don't like but do allow ~ to get thru.
