[Gamemode] Seize

[The Mode]: A capture the flag style game-mode with a twist. Players take datacores from the centre of the map and deliver it to their own base. Whilst delivering datacores to your own base, they can be stolen from enemy players. The game ends by the team with the most datacores when the timer runs out or having all of the data cores.

[Maps]: It will likely need new maps to be playable. However, maps used in the Execution game-mode could be playable. A design of a map I have briefly thought about is a fairly large one, slightly smaller than standard objective/stopwatch game-modes. A helicopter crash/train crash of some sort in the middle. A container would be found in the middle with the datacores. Whilst this is on-going, there are secondary objectives like planting c4 in different locations for more routes to use, to attack. Such as bridges, gates and so on.

[How to play]: When playing there will be around 6 data-cores in the middle. Both teams will initially fight at the start, or simply run in and out with a datacore. When holding a datacore, the individual has lost the use of their weapons until they drop it/change to their weapons. When a player is holding a datacore they appear on the HUD now with a marker and can be tracked. This means that players must defend their team-mates.

The unique style of this gameplay is whilst you’re attacking, you’re defending at the same time. Whilst you could all rush to the enemys base to steal their datacores, they can still be doing the same. So with your team you need to balance it. You also must figure out who’s the best to take the datacores. Once a datacore is delivered to a container slot, they can be taken by the enemy team back to their base.

It would be better to have the same delivery location as well as maybe 3 datacores, maybe the datacores spawn at each team’s spawn and the last one moves around a bit, and they are delivered in the center of the map

Then it’d make no sens and rounds would be too quick. Once you deliver all the datacores in the middle, you then fight over each others.

SD stated they disliked the idea of a capture-the-flag sort of game mode because it would basically be ended by a single fast merc dodging a bit. - The slower mercs would have less use.

Unlikely. This gamemode offers the defensive option for slower mercs, as well as supporting other ones. Not to mention you’re going to be attacking and defending constantly.
