Game Won't start

Starting after the update, Dirty Bomb wont start up.
after trying to launch it quickly pops up the “preparing to launch Dirty Bomb” window from steam, but quickly disappears. And the cursor shows a loading symbol like its trying to do something.

When i look at the steam console, it says Game removed: AppID 333930 “Dirty Bomb”, ProcID 4812
‘No cached sticky mapping in ActivateActionSet.’"
unfortunately, i have no idea what “No cached sticky mapping in ActivateActionSet” means, but it might have something to do with it.

Hopefully y’all can help and all help is appreciated.

Hello there.

I’ve had the same issue a few days ago.
Reboot your pc in safe mode with networking and check if it works.

If you don’t know how to, this is a guide for Windows 10.

Let’s say it works, will i need to start it in safe mode every time to play? Thnaks btw!

Nope. You don’t need to reboot in safe mode anymore.
It should be all good now.

Safe mode isn’t meant to run games in and doesn’t resolve issues in normal boot.

I’ve figured it out. AVG is currently blocking Dirty Bomb’s Anti Cheat therefore not allowing the game to start, The staff say they are currently working on getting it fixed.

I didn’t ment Geeky should always run Dirty Bomb in safe mode.
I just experienced an issue as he described it and so thought that the action I took to fix the problem (rebooting the computer in safe mode) would work for him as well.
However, it turned out that he had an entirely different problem which he fixed fortunately. :slight_smile:

Rebooting in safe-mode temporarily doesn’t change system files in normal boots anyways. Whatever was your issue wasn’t solved by booting into safe mode then back normally.

I went through the usual proccess (reinstall the game, verify game files) but nothing worked.
I would open task manager and see that Dirty Bomb is loading.
Sudddenly it disappears and…nothing.

I didn’t know what else I could try until I stumbled upon this.

The exact same thing happened to me. I don’t know if it was the update, but it was working yesterday.
