Game wont start please help.

Hi I am on windows 8.1 and this game will not launch. I have already tried the uninstalling of windows update kb3000850 and nothing. The process shows up in task manager when I launch but no windows ever appears and then the process closes by itself. ya thanks Also tried uninstalling, repairing, changing download locations, tried with and without the 3000850 windows update installed. tried compatibility options but no go. but why does this happen

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the entire launcher?

Yes I have re installed the launcher completely as well with the game again still no good. My friend who just re installed to see if they had the issue was able to play just fine but she is on windows 7. So it must be a windows 8.1 issue.
