Game will not boot

the game was working fine the second to last day of the containment war meltdown whatever event, then it just stopped booting entirely. the NGS symbol doesn’t even show up. steam shows I’m playing, but it goes back to normal about 20 seconds after hitting “play”.
before then, it worked fine. I’ve verified the cache, and I’m reinstalling now. (4:50 PM)

again, beforehand the game worked fine for me, so I’m a bit confused.

reinstalling did not help. I’m at a loss as to what to do, other then a manual wipe of the game itself, which I’m going to hold off doing unless it’s my only option.

I am experiencing the same issue. I was playing Dirty Bomb less than 24 hours ago. When I finished playing, I was taking care of barracks-related stuff and noticed a message at the top stating the game needed to update before I played online again. I was fine with that because I was finished…
however when I try to boot it up this morning I have the same exact issue you are dealing with.

EDIT:
The problem has been solved…I’m not exactly sure how, but here’s what I’ve done -

  1. Verified Integrity of Game Cache (Library - Dirty Bomb Properties - Local Files). This failed the first time, but succeeded the second and third. Game still would not launch.
  2. Decided to play a different shooter (CS:GO) but that was having issues as well. A different issue related to the steam client.
  3. Restarted steam thinking it would solve this problem. Figured why not try dirty bomb again. Dirty Bomb booted up properly now.

It’s a strange fix, but hopefully it works repeatedly…
