Game was fine yesterday now it won't even launch today

Kirays! If you can somehow pass this up the chain… Please see my post above. It seems both Stabby69 and Derp… each have logs that say they are running Windows Vista, when neither of them are… Could the problem be related to this…??

It’s really weird that the log said I am running Vista even though I run Windows 10.

That’s probably a bug. My logs say the same and I’m on Windows 10 as well.

Is your system up-to-date and have you tried this yet?

Hi Kirays, I’ll try that. I also got a reply from one of the support techs. They suggested that I try the following, but I haven’t had the opportunity yet due to visitors from out of town. I’m going to try both your suggestion and the one the support techs sent.

Btw, did that last fix resolve your problem, Derpfestor? If so you’re super lucky. I’m still fighting with the problem and I’m about ready to give up. I’ve invested quite a bit of time into this game only to to stop playing due to technical issues. Seems pretty flakey given that this isn’t some fly by night video game company. I’ve seen enough reports in the forum about people having similar issues and it seems unbelievable that customers have to flail about like idiots. I hate to say this, but this is probably one of the worst supported games I’ve seen in terms of resolutions to issues with technical problems. Such a shame because I really enjoy the game.

I have talked with our Tech Team and I was advised to forward the below solution steps which you will apply till the issue is resolved:

Ensure that no enhancement software (like Sweet FX) is running
Verify integrity of game cache in Steam
Reinstall DX9
Delete the game and re-download
The steps above should fix your issue eventually, please apply those steps for a couple times at least till your issue is resolved but if you can’t get the game function correctly please contact us again so we can do our best to investigate this issue further.

Ok, I was finally able to resolve the problem. The issue was that I had installed a SweetFX setting over 2 years ago and totally forgot that I had. It wasn’t until a very good friend told me to look in the Win32 folder and I saw it was in there. STUPID!!! I really want to thank the community for the support that was displayed. I also want to apologize for bashing the tech support. They clearly told me that I had to delete any added files, but I totally didn’t think I had any installed. Again, I humbly apologize and thank the community. Time to game finally after 2 weeks.

Nice. Humble and good man. Like the DB slogan goes: “DON’T BE A D***!” Happy to see you weren’t and that you got the problem resolved. Man whomever that good friend is, I think you owe him a golden HotPocket! I also hear he kept Proxy very warm and safe while you were away unable to play.

Now who in their right mind would leave that rat “warm and safe”.

Also what are your OS? Heard some weird rumours about a new Windows version that can’t support DB.
