I was on Chapel running towards a side objective and suddenly the game decided to force me into constructing it (as Nader) and I was unable to move away from it or do anything but construct.
Game taking control completely of gameplay
I had something similar a few days ago, also on Chapel. I was near an MG nest using it as cover while I was killing lots of bad guys when the game forced me onto the turret. I couldnt disengage by pressing F and I didnt have time to see if weapon switching would release me as the enemy then had a clear shot on me and killed me.
Just lastnight I went to defuse something and the game forced me to defuse it, so it worked out but if someone had come I would have died since you lose control of your merc.
The bug you’re talking about is different I think. I reported something like that here:

Similar thing has happened to me but it was reviving someone, I was not a medic and couldn’t move till dude got healed!

Nopes, my experience was different. I hadnt used the MG that match, I was using it as cover while I shot my NADES OF DEATH. The game hooked me up the the MG without me asking it to, and whilst I could fire the MG, I couldnt use F to disengage.
It may not be the same at the forced defuse, but since it is bound to the same action key I figured it might be a cousin at least. I used to be a programmer and bug squisher, the more info you have the easier it is (sometimes) to find the fault.
I had that whole not being able to shoot / cant disengage thing a while back. I was able to self kill though. When they posted they did a minor update patch they said something about the turrets being fixed though I haven’t had it since. It used to happen quite regularly.
