I get random FPS drops now. The game stutters then catches up with itself and players begin to teleport to their new position.
Game stutters more since last patch.
Im getting some “buttery” movement from time to time, when merc continues to move for like .5 second even after i released the movement key.
It’s because more people were playing and putting stress on the virtualized Nexon servers. The stutters everyone get isn’t because of the client once you get past having good hardware, good internet and lowering settings. You can have the best computer on the planet and the lowest settings possible and still get reduced FPS fairly often. It’s due to server lag and has nothing to do with the client. Nexon/SD refuse to say anything about it though for some odd reason despite bug reports being made and being asked in dev streams pretty often. Or if they have I’ve missed it and none of my questions and reports have been acknowledged.
@MissMurder Could you help pass along this issue or see if it can be acknowledged? It’s got to be issue #1 that is most talked about on all the forums and the dev streams.
People getting the stutters, could you try opening ShooterEngine.ini and finding [TextureStreaming]. Under that you should find PoolSize=160, try changing it to half or a bit more of your GPU’s VRAM. So if you have a 1gb card change it to PoolSize=512.
Interested to know if it works.
Also make sure to run the game in full-screen and not windowed/borderless.
I’ve done that along with about everything else possible. It changes nothing sadly. I know server lag when I see it and that’s what is happening. I’ve also kept perf tools running that keeps pretty close tabs on my CPU, RAM, network and GPU which records during play. Nothing happens during lag events. Meaning the source of the lag is most certainly not local.
Oh it’s server? Odd, a friend was saying he gets it, but I never do. We play in the same servers.
I think people are talking about two different kinds of lag. Some people are getting system lag which is a result of their hardware and settings and the game/maps.
The kind of lag I’m talking about is not incredibly frequent but happens at least a few times during each side for probably half a second. Some people would refer to them as microstutters. When I’ve asked on server, “did anybody else lag just then” most respond with yes. That isn’t definitive proof that the server lagged but combine that with the data I’ve pulled with perf tools it makes a good case.
So during these microstutter events none of my perf tool software has shown anything crazy happening on my local machine which is also pretty beefy and has been stability tested for days. I’ve also increased and removed overclocks from my system and my average FPS stays pretty much the same (capped at 150) but I get microstutters regardless.
