Game stuttering at above 90FPS

(InfernoKun) #1

Whenever I play DB I get above 90fps, but it feels so choppy and stuttery. I’ve tried turning on vsync and it kinda fixes it, but my fps sometimes drops below 60fps as a result. I’ve tried reinstalling the game, resetting my configs, making sure thread sync is off, etc. I’m not sure why it’s running so bad on a Ryzen 1700x and a GTX 1070. I don’t get this problem on any other Unreal Engine game.

Here’s a ShadowPlay. Not sure what’s up with the usage OSD, but just use the gameplay sutterness as a reference.

Hmm I’ve no idea why that’s happening, and unfortunately I’m here only to ask, how well does Ryzen handle DB? I’m planing on building a new pc soon, with ryzen, so just wanted to know, because it still is UE3 afterall.

Might have to find someone else with a Ryzen to see how it performs on DB. Not sure if I have the optimal experience at the moment lol

Ah, alright, so it’s still happening? Did you do a clean windows install? Did you verify the game’s integrity in Steam? Maybe a driver update or game update messed it up? Did you overclock 1700x and your RAM, and if so, did you try going back to stock settings? You can try posting your problem on r/amd because you have ryzen or r/nvidia because of 1070? I don’t know much about troubleshooting so I’m not of a big help, but that’s all I can think of right now.

It runs fine for like a match, but then it starts getting choppy the longer I play. I’ve clean installed windows on my M.2 NVME SSD, moved Dirty Bomb to that SSD to see if that’d do anything, haven’t overclocked at all, tried the lowest settings, etc. Thanks tho

Oh wow found a fix that actually works. Buttery smooth now lol (at least about 30min i’ve tested). I’ll test some more later.

Well, if that’s it, then I’m glad you fixed it!
