Game sound entirely muted w/ SiberiaV2 headset

(Dun) #1

Hi there. I was wondering if anyone could help me with this problem I’ve had since yesterday upon muting voice chat in a public game when someone was screaming at the top of their lungs. It’s muted my game on the menu and in game since with seemingly no fixes.

Headset: Siberia V2

I’ve tried all the obvious fixes I think:

-reinstalling the game several times
-deleting gameshooter folder and reinstalling with registry fixes
-deleting gameshooter folder and verifying cache
-deleting gameshooter folder and simply launching the game to replace it

-made sure my volume mixer with regards to dirty bomb is not 0
-made sure in game sound settings are up and on
-tried changing crosshair colour (lol)

I have updated my realtek audio driver to the latest version and seemingly upgraded my Siberia V2 headset to the latest Steelseries Engine 3 version as per this thread: http://forums.dirtybomb.nexon.net/discussion/622/please-read-before-posting-known-issues-updated-daily.

The problem is that my other headset appears to work with DB when I plug it in but I would much rather play with my V2 as it works with every other program and game.

I’m at a loss as to what else to do. I have submitted a ticket to try and solve the problem but I’d appreciate if anyone else has anything to offer.

Go into the audio settings and there should be a little output device tab that you can swap from headphones and speakers. Change that and apply the settings and it should work

In DB? That doesn’t seem to exist?

I know how to swap that with windows and it still has no volume with DB when it’s my V2 receiving, and not my other headset. I can test this by doing that ping noise test with my V2 and confirming that it works but DB still remains with no sound.

Can you open the window that controls your Playback devices(where you can change the defaults)?

Go to the communication Tab of that window and ensure that the radial for Do Nothing is marked. If it isn’t, mark it, hit apply and then OK.

If that wasn’t the issue ~ Go back to the Playback Tab
Double click on the icon of the device that is having the problem. Go to the Advanced Tab of the new window that popped up.

Please ensure that BOTH checkboxes under ‘Exclusive Mode’ and selected. If not, check both, click Apply and then OK.

If that wasn’t the issue ~

If none of that worked, go to Advanced and hit Restore Defaults. Maybe it will help?

Let me know if any of this helps. I will try and do some research in the mean time.

The first two were already done. For the third, I tried restoring the defaults. It still doesn’t work unfortunately.

I appreciate any further help you can give me.

:frowning: Trying, but it is a weird issue.

Could you try doing a system restore back to before you did the mute? I dunno what else you might have installed since then, but it is the only thing I can think of atm. Up to you if you want to try it.

I sincerely wonder what the problem is but a system restore should fix it… but I’ll probably give that a try tomorrow or when I get a chance.

I haven’t installed anything whatsoever since muting voice chat. Any time I spent on the computer was playing with friends with a muted dirty bomb until I tried the other cheap headset, haha.

That being said, if you can help me with another method, that would be greatly appreciated.

Will keep it in mind. >.< This is something I haven’t see before.

Looks like this has cropped up on another machine.

Could you submit a ticket to Nexon Support using the link in my signature?

(Dun) #11

I submitted a ticket two days ago: https://support-dirtybomb.nexon.net/hc/en-us/requests/15957

I believe I do not need to submit another one?

Correct, no need to put in a new one.
