GAME "Press Any Key" doesn't respond

You know the drill: Start a game, loading screen does its loady thing, game tells you to press any key to enter. Problem is it doesn’t matter what I press, the screen doesn’t go away. I can clearly hear the game behind the screen happening without me, but the screen never goes away. I’ve tried all of the keyboard keys, mouse buttons, alt-tabbing, and none of it works. So not only is the screen unnecessary, it completely stops me from playing (ain’t that a kick in the head?).

Any solutions out there?

A friend gets this, he thinks it might be because he’s alt tabbing on loading screen. If you’re doing this try using alt-enter before alt-tabbing and see if that helps. Never alt-tab fullscreen games when loading, lesson learned way back in the 90s still seems relevant now…

Yup. Alt-Enter, then click the window. Press any key and it should bump you into the game. Press alt enter again to make it full screen.
