Game mode XP

1000XP for destroying an objective + 200XP for plant is too much for attacking team considering defender will only get 200XP for defuse. I would love to see maybe 400XP for defuse. You’ll even get more XP on constructing these generators and bridges midway
through map than on the C4 defuse.

Also, I don’t like the fact that you don’t get any points when you pick up the core. I’m talking about Bridge map. It’s a lot harder to get to that core than it’s on Trainyard or Chapel. I would be nice to give us even 50-100XP for picking up the core on that map, cause you’ll have to kill enemies to get to that core unlike Trainyard or Chapel where you have it on the spawn.

You’re forgetting that defenders periodically get 200 “long defense” exp, which counts as game mode exp.

I do agree however that game mode exp is the worst and should be looked at.

I’ve got a topic somewhere saying that Badges should give specific experience types, opposed to general non-descript exp. So you’d get 150 game mode exp for all the bronze badges that relate to objectives, another 250 for silver badges that relate to objectives, and another 500 for gold badges that relate to objectives. :stuck_out_tongue:

Would be nice to give gamemode XP for kills near the objective too, because if anything killing someone before they can plant is better than defusing. @Jigstraw’s idea is also great
Defusing could also use more XP, since as it is it’s better to let a secondary generator blow up and repair it rather than to defuse it. Also you should still get XP for attempting to defuse even if the C4 does go off

Getting XP for anything to do with the carryable core is a bad idea though, would make it extremely easy to abuse the system. Imagine people just repeatedly picking it up and dropping it, or grabbing it and just running away.

@Jigstraw - Oh, yes, I totally forgot about long defence bonus and that badge idea is not bad. Game mode XP is still the hardest to get XP in the game, so that would help surly.

@STARRYSOCK - You got a point, but then maybe it would be nice when only attacking team deliver to get some extra XP for picking up the core. It’s not that big issue for me, but I would like to see a little bit more appreciation from DB for people who is doing an objective rather than chasing K/D ratio only.

I’m sorry, I’m not really sure what you mean. But still, I know it’s not ideal, but you have to be careful giving out XP for doing something that stops the rest of your team from winning the game, like running away with the core to farm it or whatever. With how easy it is to pick up the core, it really shouldn’t be rewarded.
There is a very small amount of “Guard XP” for staying near the core though, so it’s not nothing

@STARRYSOCK - Let’s say for example, you pick up the core, drag it to the containers, get killed, I pick up the core and deliver. Then you should get 100XP for some sort of assist, cause you carried it to the very end. That’s what I meant. I’m talking about Bridge map only , where is not that easy to get to the core.

On bridge that wouldn’t be too bad if it was a one-time thing, but for consistency reasons it’s probably better to leave it as-is, since it wouldn’t work on any other maps.
Besides, on bridge it’s usually only one person grabbing the core and rushing the objective, rather than the other core maps where the core usually changes hands several times, so any objective assist XP probably wouldn’t do much anyways.

In Execution, you get

  • 200 Game mode XP for planting/defusing
  • 1000 XP for a successful detonation
  • 200 XP for every minute of successful defence

6 rounds on offence, equates to approximately 6000 Game mode XP

Very few players knew about the GMXP maths in Execution.

Very few are players really playing objective… even in Objective and Stopwatch.
