Game Join Issues

I experienced a few issues joining games last night.

[li]Existing issue: When you join an in-progress game you don’t get the opportunity to choose your merc.
[/li][li]Since the patch: A few times, I was returned to the lobby view after the new game had started; I could hear the “intro” but not see it, instead having to wait for another deploy counter.
[/li][li]Since the patch: When joining an in-progress game, I got spawnkilled without even seeing it - I think the intro was still running at the time.

I’ve had this issue also, I’m wondering if there should be spawn protection for mid-game joiners until they’ve full loaded, or if that’s too hard to detect until they move their merc.

Another issue is the Favourite Server list. When you elect to join a server the ‘joining server’ overlay pops up. The issue is the ‘Cancel’ button is greyed out and there is no way to return to any previous menu, other than exiting the game.

If you get stuck in the “joining server” window you can return back to the main menu by using the “disconnect” command in the console. Obviously this is a bug that needs to be fixed but here’s a temporary solution to it.
