Game is not noob friendly at all

(dirtybomber) #1

What do you think about this? On the one hand we got oldschool community wanting to have hardcore fps game bringing the rtcw/et/etqw feeling back, on the other hand we have Nexon that “runs” this game and is obviously intrested in constant new player flow. Right now the game is way too fast what in turn causes troubles for new players with aiming/understanding the game/etc. Nexon audience is not used to getting shot from every point of the map, not even knowing where they get killed from. In order to make game popular it is important to make it as casual as possible without actually violating the very idea of it.

I personally enjoy XT as it is right now, but how are you (Nexon, SD) planning to make it big?

(BomBaKlaK) #2

Way to fast ? is this a joke ?
this is just the opposite, to much slow down ! and a noob dont stay a noob so long, if he feels some potential, he wants to stick to the game and be better. Make the game noob friendly dont mean make a slow game … Or maybe go play Wii U ?
“Make it casual as possible” is just the worst idea of the universe !!!

(dirtybomber) #3

i think u havent played lots of 8v8. it’s a mindless shooting mess.

(BomBaKlaK) #4

please don’t think !

(shaftz0r) #5

what game isnt a mindless shooting mess in a full pub? you must be really excited for the new cod

(dirtybomber) #6

no im not excited for the new cod, as i said i perfectly enjoy this mindless shooting mess, i just want the game to have as big playerbase as possible, and the current game pace is very specific and by no means can attract HUGE playerbase.

russian version which is slower is not a shooting mess btw.

(shaftz0r) #7

if this game gets slower, it will fail miserably… i have absolutely no idea what point you’re trying to make, but you will make no friends here with it lol :stuck_out_tongue: the majority of us want faster gameplay for better shootyshootypewpew

(S0und_) #8

After watching a lot of PAX reviews, most the reviews are stating that, the game is fun, and easy to pick up. So what are you talking about?

(dirtybomber) #9

i am talking about nexon FPS audience majority of which is 15-16-17 years old.

(fzl) #10

i find this game is to slow atm…we need more speed ( and more movement)…

like rtcw, et

and btw where is the recoil??? … aiming is too easy atm

(ailmanki) #11

There is no need to modify the game. What is needed is some kind of match making.
So you can play with others on your skill level.

(dirtybomber) #12

i just want to hear the opinion of some recently joined player who hasnt ever played et.

You have chosen a very bad headline for this topic as this could be easily understood in a wrong way! I think ‘forward movement too fast’ would have fit better, because that’s what I assume you meant.

I’m not sure how many other players agree here with me, but I myself find the forward movement too fast. It’s really fast, but on the other side we have so many other things which slow the movement down or interrupt it.

SD is as interesed in a constant new player flow as Nexon, yes even the community wants that.

Why do you use the term ‘Nexon audience’? Not sure what you try to say with that. And ‘not even knowing where they get killed from’ is just map knowledge which every new players has to go through.

Screw the comp players right?

Please be careful when you write things like ‘make it more noob friendly’ or ‘new players struggle to aim with…’, because the game is already very simple (at it’s current state!). :frowning:

This type of player is what brings down comp and brings up Jaymod and shrub servers.

This game is beyond slow, full of shooter spam at my knees and rubber bullets and weird weird stuff.

FZL, please dont make this a COD or BF3 with recoil… I Hope they stay turn with that. The spread is still crazy while moving…

Give noobs a panzer to run around with.

15-16-17 year old should have the highest reaction time and best gaming skills (Lacking personal skills sometime in vents,ts or mumbles however). I think I was a lot better at the age. Stop making excuses for people being lazy and not wanting to aim and track… This is only coming out for PC there is no aim assist or other BS like consoles. This is legit gaming. People like my pay thousands for a computer to get the littlest competitive advantage.

We/I am begging for a amazing shooter that combines ET, RTWC and very small amounts of COD and BF into it. Build it around the shooting mechanics and balance and make the comp blow up. Non skilled players will always have other mods or game types that fit them.

Also make the anti cheat so incredible in-breakable that people like that dont insta ban good players killing the game even more…

There is going to be a massive swing in skill. Battle Field doesnt handle the skill gap well because good players get banned. There’s also a thing called Metabans or some crap that some servers run in the back. This is also flawed and doesnt even let me connect to servers.

COD doesnt ban however if people see you in the auto Que then they leave.

When I was a noob(still am a noob) I loved big ass servers / maps. So change the server seize and create some big maps ala fueldump and it will be more noob friendly.

At the person above. Jaymod servers were faster paced than mods like etpro.

32 v 32 xT would be fun but boring running one speed across the map.

Jaymod might have been faster but they were also fulled with less skilled players and more spam…

But these are two different kind of problems. One is the map design. The other is movement and infight-mechanics. Believe me, if you really played W:ET with these infight-mechanics, you would not find it complicated at all. Problem is, there is hardly, if not none, such game out there currently and since years. Have you really played W:ET O-o (just out of interest) Because i found it not overwhelming at all, more like: exciting. “Oh, there is a commandpost, it makes beeps, whats that?” and there you go, a learning process. But W:ET has not too much of those either. Maybe the CoverOps in disguise … etc blabla

But seriously: i don’t understand how the infight mechanics of W:ET can be regarded as so bad. Maybe after all these years, when you load up W:ET, you will most likely meet people who have played this game for years. That is when they RQ and blame it on the game? Thinking more it is a natural skill-gap. Matchmaking should fix that, yes.

Anyway … not understanding what is meant with “noob friendly”. Is it a myth? People can’t be that dumb. Imo they should not be allowed to play FPS games then? Sorry, but, then these are the kids who probably are also not that good catching a ball or something, or having really hard coordination problems. Not that i am making fun of this, but then probably FPS is nothing for those peeps. Maybe chess would be better … or something …

It is crazy how good athletes are good a good FPS… Good Hand Eye translates well to computer games!

I don’t think the game is that fast since there’s no recoil. I find it quite easy compared to ET or even counter strike. But I know the newbies on CS, according to me, playing CS is just fun when you play matches but some prefer to play on FFA. ( It means that most of the players on Extraction will be only playing on Public servers ).

I think I saw somewhere on the forum that we could make the game easier in Public servers ( All classes can do all objectives, etc… ), and more difficult when you’re in veteran servers or even in Match servers. ( Specific class objectives ).

Still, I think Extraction has the perfect speed atm, I find easy to aim and shoot at the enemies.

True.
