Game: Error message "Ran out of video memory"

(Breezer43) #1

I’ve tried several times over the past couple months to play Dirty Bomb but each time I get the error
“ran out of video memory” 99% of the time this happens while loading a map. I’ve never been able to play a map. I lowered the settings and resolution, put it into windowed display and I was able to load a map but quickly lost it to the same error.

I run a AMD R7 260x 2gig card and am able to play other more demanding games.
I saw some older posts for other games that mention 32bit OS causing some issues, which I use. (windows 7 32bit).

Any idea if there is anything I can do to get this to work?

I’ve seen this error before- but I imagine it’ll be fixed when we are up on Steam. Keep us updated

I have played another game a few years back, and my old computer was not top of the line. Due to that fact, this and another error in which the graphic card would just “give out” was directly related to the fact that my computer was just not adequate graphically. I do not know specifically if that is your case but I strongly feel it might be. Graphic card is not the only thing to be taken into consideration when attempting to enable your self to play heavy duty games.

If I could try to give you advice, attempt the game at its lowest settings and see where you go from there.

Good luck mate.

if you run multi monitor, try turning off secondary

been getting this a lot in the last two weeks, never been a problem before, maybe there is a memory leak since last patch?

(blitheTower) #12

@mightySpell Same here… Is there a fix for this?

This is ridiculous. I get into a comp game, get kicked from the game cause of this. I re-open the game where I get a sign in error when I try to re join! Then I try again coming back the a lovely 1 Day Ban – This is bloody ridiculous Splash Damage!!!

Also, this new antihack system doesn’t work, and coming across hackers is a daily problem!
