Game devs and their games

After watching the Miss Murder gameplay stream, it got me wondering… do devs and other members closely affiliated with a game play it? No offense to MissMurder intended, but it seems like she doesn’t play Dirty Bomb a lot…

I mean, it must be similar to something else, like a movie. If you make a movie then watch it, then you have this deeper understanding very few people have. Does this mean you like the movie more? Or do you hate it?

Do game devs love going home and playing a few rounds of their creation? Or do they go read a book after a long day spent developing that game that they might even despise?

I imagine that a lot of devs would enjoy playing their sort of “baby”, this creation that they’ve envisioned. But then also some devs might be sick of it after working on it day after day. obviously having never made a game, or talked to a game dev, I have no idea.

So what do you guys think? Do you know a game dev? Can someone bribe a dev from SD to pop on over? Or shall I wonder about this for the rest of time?

They do play their own games a couple of times - only when they have the time. If they are so busy working or testing on something then they probably won’t play the game if they are too tired. It’s simply a matter that if someone is busy they won’t play it. But if they are not, then they might play it.

Well, they do play their own games. And by that, I mean testing at it and playing around with it.
Well, I don’t think MissMurder is much of a fps player, so she probably just plays on her phone, playing Candy Crush or whatever. No offense…

Lol XD Maybe, but girls that play FPS should mean that they play a lot since boys’ brains are actually better suited for gaming since it’s related to “hunting” as what is built into our genes. Dunno if that made sense or not lol.

I get ya.

I was just curious. I will probably never make something that is as much of a brainchild like a videogame is.

Game dev is simply about spawning an object, moving it, and destroying it. The rest is details

Wait, destroying it? I got the rest though. Nice quote I suppose.
