Game crashes on map load

(nimbleRake) #1

Hi, my game crashes on map loading, someone suggested deleting the ShooterEngine.ini file and it wouldnt even let me load the game. Any suggestions or help?

Try verifying your game cache via steam. Also, could you please provide your PC specs?

Thanks!

I also have this problem, I tried every solution out there including verifying game cache, and nothing seems to work.

Everyone says to do this but doesn’t work, after hours of research I had my friend try everything I found and non of it worked for him he still crashes when trying to load. He has the right specs his rig is almost same as mine if not better but I can play. (I’ve also seen people post system specs after getting a reply from mods/any one else then they don’t reply after that, noticing they have the right specs for the game to run.)

Would be nice for the admins to notice this and at least talk about it, I’ve seen so many people have the same problem for 3 days now. Should honestly work on fixing this issue and address it publicly so all of the users having this problem will know they are at least attempting to fix it.

It could be a certain operating system having problems with this game but the way it seems DB staff really doesn’t care about it since they aren’t even addressing it but are talking about a bunch of other problems that aren’t completely stopping people from playing.

A lot of what I’ve noticed with this issue is its coming down to the limitations of 32-bit Windows 7/8 and the RAM limitations.

While there’s a few exceptions (IshReleX so far being the only one I know of), it seems that the majority of issues are Spec related.

32-Bit Windows Operating Systems have an upper limit to the amount of RAM they’re capable of accessing (3.25 GBs is the number I’ve seen in these cases). This goes for both XP (2GB) 7 (3.25 GB) and 8 (4GB).

64-Bit Operating Systems have significantly higher RAM Limits (we probably won’t see 64-bit going away for a while with these numbers). With 7,8, and 128TB limits for Windows 8.

This game requires at minimum 3 GB of RAM when launching the program – it pre-alots that space for its data. With the 32-bit systems, either they don’t have the memory available to begin with, or are calling for that space back for more important processes - which causes the game to terminate due to insufficient Memory.

Also – this is Tech Support, where players like Ardez, I, and a few others take the time to try and help you guys. Please be try to be patient with us

I understand and my friend has 64 bit windows 7. *I’m not blaming you guys, I’m blaming the higher up. They aren’t even acknowledging this problem to their users and stating anything about it or that they are trying to fix it.

That’s typically because these problems -tend- to be User-end. Not always the case. Me and Ardy run through the typical fixes and when we run out of solutions that could apply, we send you up the ladder.

Now. There’s two more fixes we could try.

First One; Try setting your Video Settings to the Lowest setting and try to join a game.

If that doesn’t work, the last Fix we have is:

Uninstall Dirty Bomb.
Delete the UnrelaEngine3 folder in -> My Documents/My Games/UnrealEngine3
Reinstall Dirty Bomb
Test.

If these don’t work, then a Ticket and working with a Support Agent is the only recourse left.

Also – The Devs don’t typically check these forums, because its not their job to do so and they’ve got more important things to do than trying to sift through the thousands of comment to find an issue that may not be a problem they can solve. That’s where Mods and helpful folk like Ardy and myself respectively help out.
