Game crashes all the time. [on startup, between loading maps, middle of match, end of match]

(IshReleX) #1

I found about this game few days ago and started playing, but haven’t had the chance to play a single full match without the game closing on me.

Yes, I have tried re-downloading the game
Yes, I have tried verifying cache
Yes, I have disabled firewall, even removed my anti-virus
Yes, I have removed ShooterEngine.ini
Yes, I have basically tried every solution out there running as admin etc…

I really like this game, and I want to play a full game without getting annoying crash windows screen just like the other beta testers out there.

My Specs;

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570K CPU @ 4.20GHz
AMD Radeon HD 7950 Vapor-X 3GB
Microsoft Windows 8 Professional Edition (build 9200), 64-bit
12GB RAM

You might have already done this, but have you opened a ticket at
https://support-dirtybomb.nexon.net/hc/en-us ?

(IshReleX) #3

I’ve sent a ticket and I realized that maybe the problem with crashing is that the game uses 100% of my CPU, i left task manager open, and then realized that the game hits to 100% usage and then shutdowns on me.

(Ardez1) #4

Is it the only process that shoots up in task manager?

(IshReleX) #5

Yes, it only uses the CPU all the way up to 99% then when it hits 100%, it crashes, it doesn’t even use that much of RAM, just CPU

I was reading online somewhere that windows update can cause your computer to slowdown, and i have this pre-reserve Windows 10 running all the time, and I can’t seem to close it, or get rid of it.

(Ardez1) #6

It may not be the game launching your CPU up. Try checking task manager while it is happening, rather than after. You will need to watch the processes tab.

EDIT: Also, please look for Antimalware Service Executable and dashost.exe in particular.

(IshReleX) #7

I removed all type of antivirus software from my PC while trying to fix a solution for crashes.

is Coherent UI related with Dirty Bomb?,

this only happens when loading the map, during the game my CPU barely hits 40% usage, that’s only if i manage to load the map without crashing

(Ardez1) #8

What is your video card? Do you have the latest drivers for it? If so, could you try the beta drivers from the manufacturers website?

Also, Coherent UI relies fairly heavily on JavaScript. Could you ensure you have the latest version? https://java.com/en/download/

According to the devs for Coherent UI it should use a combined total of 1% to 5% of your CPU. This may be the issue. CUI is used to interface a game with an online store. I don’t see anybody else having the issue, so it is most likely something on your machine triggering the issue.

EDIT: Looks like it does a lot more than what I mentioned. Still researching. Please do follow the steps I already provided.

(IshReleX) #9

I use AMD Radeon HD 7950 Vapor-X 3GB, I actually had the latest beta version and was still having problems, I then downgrade to stable version.

It’s weird since this only happens to me in this game, I’m just going to wait for what the devs respond to my ticket, if no solutions found I’m just going to format my computer since that’s the last option that works in most cases lol

Buddy of mine played for the first time last night. Windows 7, gtx770, newer quad core i7, 8gb ram. He could not keep the game from crashing with coherent ui errors all night. Several tshooting attempts were no good.

It wasn’t until he turned up his page file settings when he was able to play. Had page files disabled because he’s on ssd. Apparently 8gb of memory wasn’t enough.

@IshReleX

That quote is related to another game using the same Coherent UI. Could you please go to the link below and follow the steps?

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/change-virtual-memory-size#1TC=windows-7

Maybe try doubling it or adding 50% to the value and see what happens.

Thanks!

EDIT: Or if it is disabled, enable it at 4GB.

(IshReleX) #11

it was disabled and I enabled to 4GB,
but I guess it doesn’t have to do with CPU, at 50% it crashed again, I gave up, I’m just going to wait for ticket response, and then maybe format the computer.

Thank you for your help

(Ardez1) #12

Well, best of luck man. Hope they can resolve it for you.

(goodField) #13

Wait. You’re playing in Windows 10?

(Ardez1) #14

Nope. It is the windows 10 reservation system. Check your taskbar if you are on Windows 7 or 8. It should be there for you too.

(goodField) #15

Yeah I know about that, but his taskbar (start button) looks like neither 7 or 8 – maybe I’m just being loopy?

(Ardez1) #16

It is windows 8 Pro. It looks like he has a modified start menu installed that overrides the start screen.

(IshReleX) #17

I have dark gray scheme, maybe that’s why?
Also, I installed Start8 program to have win7 start menu

Called it.

-grumble- Thought I had a slam dunk :stuck_out_tongue: Stealin’ mah thunder Ardy.

(IshReleX) #20

completely removing AMD drivers, and erasing all AMD related files and then updating driver to 15.5 fixed the problem so far no crash the last one hour of gameplay.
