I should mention it doesn’t seem to work with ammo stations, they just phase though the EV.

I don’t care if i get banned. A friend of mine told me this and i thought he was joking and he said “you should try it if you don’t believe me”. I didn’t believed him and but i tried and voila 30000 Points. This should be fixed asap or the game will have Level 50 Players in no time who didn’t even know how to play the game.
How about a roll-back? I have no problems in loosing the exploited 30000 points so
But it would be hilarious to see the threads in the forum like themes about “i lost my exp ;(”

I’d like to see that happen! Maybe not banning but if Splash damage has access to the ECHO data as they say they do, it’s easy to single out what anyone has been doing at any given time. Just removing the XP and credits gained through farming would be easy enough to do I assume. Could be wrong though. Anyway: +1

I think you would lose quite a lot of people from the game if you ban them which to be honest can really hurt the game. Sooo many people tried it out already

Honestly banning people for abusing a bug during the bèta* of a game is quite stupid and a rollback won’t do much because XP is worthless unless you have missions that require support XP.

It makes level meaningless, not that it gives an advantage, so it is a wonder anyone would just ‘Aura Farm’ as one player just kicked me off the server for not doing. Also, playing Defense on Bridge is painful for defense where two members are consistently Aura and stand in front of the EV and farm xp. They also are getting the cases for each ill-gotten level.

At least that XP gain isn’t as bad as some other i’ve seen. That XP is average for a stopwatch. Did he get any higher than that?

That was only mid-game so I assume he got higher since I left at that point. There was just no point in continuing the match.

Confirmed xp bug still going. I saw someone doing it this morning and had no idea what they were doing, full disclosure I ended up switching to Aura and trying it out. Checked the score 85K in like 1-2 min. Just giving a heads up that it’s still working.

Funny, I posted a similar bug involving unlimited EXP with the EV but nothing ever happened.

If stuff like this keeps coming up, there might be one of a few things because of this. A rollback for everyone on full release except for items purchased with real money (which they can’t do because they promised they wouldn’t and the outrage would be insane), trying to rollback specific accounts for farming (which would be a huge pain if enough people do stuff like this throughout the beta, a lot of accounts to mull through), cancel card trading as an idea or at least if they ever do card trading they’ll have to accept an economy heavily impacted by all these folks walking around with tons of bogus credits and cards. If nothing else, the accounts with all this stuff will make a decent buck for people looking to buy accounts with the credits to get the mercs for less than it would cost them to get the mercs/start with a high level (for whatever stupid reason, some people want that).

Now I’m no game balance/virtual economy expert, but it’d make sense to me if this type of thing did have an undesirable and tangible impact on the Dirty Bomb us regular players enjoy beyond that of having to deal with idiots in matches farming instead of playing if it goes far enough, which it probably won’t, but this may not be the last exploit like this we see considering the naturally unfinished state of the game as it’s in beta.

I don’t think the sky is falling or anything crazy, it’s just something to bear in mind for those of you who might not see the harm in it.

I tested to confirm when it was in it’s wayyy early stages. Got to about the same level of XP the top player on the enemy team had and stopped. Said it was bullshit, then quit. Haven’t played since… with this and the cheaters it’s tough to play legit.

The hackers and console command teleport is more pressing. XP means nothing except rank. A boosted level 30 that plays like a level 1, fine by me.

If there will be a roll back, then I would hope Splash Damage considers using ECHO data to only roll back those who farmed. I have invested much time in this game and own almost all mercs using only in-game credits. Losing all of that over night because of this would most likely make me stop playing. I haven’t use the exploit as it takes away the fun of getting up in level and doing stuff yourself, so it impacting my hard work would be really unfair. I’m fairly sure more people are in my situation.
