[GAME BUG] Daily game mode bonus / Side Job / Missions in general

(Zihil) #1

Whilst trying to complete the new Side Job mission of completing secondary objectives, I found that I wasn’t receiving credit for completing them regardless of how many generators, side doors, or ramps I destroyed or repaired. Although it is confusing because sometimes I would. It seemed to work yesterday, as I was able to complete it, and I got 2/4 completed today before giving up on it. After I abandoned Side Job (last remaining of 3 missions) I went about trying to collect daily game mode bonuses for each game mode and failed to receive the bonus. It may or may not be related to abandoning missions, but its not something I normally do, so it seems suspect.

When I first started a week or so ago, Missions were a good source of credits, but I was usually a bit disheartened if I couldn’t complete them in the allotted time (generally on first login sequence), and recently I experienced what I assumed was a nice tweak to the system where it wouldn’t give me the new set of missions until I completed all 3, so I could still finish that last 215 objective mode exp after the reset and get 3 fresh missions. However, it seems that it may not be the case at all, and the mission generator is bugged.

Side Note: Side Job encourages counter-productive activity in regards to farming side objectives instead of completing main objectives.

PS: All missions can be viewed as incentives for imbalanced and counter-productive gameplay.
PPS: Perhaps a rework is in order for missions. I’ll make a post in suggestions about it… Here

I’ve encountered this on side doors on first stage of Underground. Planted C4, watched it until detonation and it didn’t count for the mission.

This side objective was opened before by someone else and then closed by the opposing team. Maybe that’s the reason.

And I agree that this mission is not “fun” and may be counter-productive. Also, it’s too time consuming for the reward, as in number of games required to complete. For 500 credits it should be 2. If I want to complete this mission in in a reasonable time I basically can only queue exclusively for Underground.

I personally have experienced my missions just not completing such as a sawbones mission even though clearly earning the remaining exp needed to complete the mission in one game and it still wont work. When I eventually abandoned the mission to clear up space my new missions wont work either its to the point of me not being able to play the game sense there is nothing to work for anymore. please help

I really am confused of what actually earns me progress on the mission “Job on the side”… I get this mission a lot of times, and usually takes me 2 hours of gameplay just to get this mission done. I hope there will be a better explenation to this, OR this will get fixed, as it is a highly annoying mission.

I can confirm I did 3 secondaries last game and got credit for 1. I just deleted it, I don’t have time to guess whether I’m going to get credit for missions or not. This needs to be fixed. If it is only going to count one a match then 4 for 500 is not even worth playing 4 games for.

I know this post is a bit old, but the “Job on the side” mission still seems to be bugged. I have disabled the ramp on Chapel, and closed both side doors on Underground as well as Trainyard, only to get no credit towards the mission.

As far as I’m concerned, any time you repair or disable a generator should count. This includes opening/closing doors and barricades on Underground, Trainyard and Bridge, raising the ramp on Chapel, clearing/replacing the tunnel gas on Underground and Terminal, and at least a few others that I’m simply not thinking of at the moment.

As it stands now, I abandon this mission just before the mission refill timer, more often than I complete it. I can knock out all the other missions in one or two maps, but this one can take me hours even when I make it a priority over completing main objectives. As many others have already stated, this manages to weaken the team by distracting players who are attempting to complete this mission and, therefore, ignoring the primary map objectives.

Either fix the mission by updating the method of determining if a secondary objective has been completed, or remove the mission to stop causing unbalanced game play, and frustrating players.

I’ve gotten 0 credit for doing side objectives, but I’ve also done 3 side objectives and gotten credit for at least 4. The mission is really buggy and not helped by certain things not counting such as forward spawn or disarming a side C4.

Bumper die bump!

Hello! I am back with an update about this mission!

I’ve played a stopwatch Underground match and I am sure I defused 2 C4’s and in round 2 made 1 explode in-time and the other one 1 second after we won…

So I’m 100% sure I should’ve had (at least) a 3 out of 5 done from my mission. Sadly… I only got 20% (= 1 objective).

Seeing the above complaints after the update where it should be fixed… I guess this souls be reviewed once again…
