GAME all modes all mercs movement bug: spamming crouch allows HUGE jump height VIDEO AND SCREENSHOT

See reddit posts here.

I can provide any more detail you want on this bug, system specs, software/hardware used, but the upshot is that pressing crouch quick enough allows you to gain gamebreakingly large amounts of height extremely easily and avoid fire, get to places you’re not supposed to be, etc.

I have video of it in the tutorial with FRAPS limiting my FPS and hence limiting the jump height, you can go three to four times as high as shown in the video when FPS is higher.

It works on all public servers I’ve tried so far.

One thing to note: I have only tried this very recently during which times my connection has been very poor, ping above 400, etc. but I suspect this has little to do with the effectiveness of the bug.

Hope this post helps and like I say if you require more info on how it works reply in this thread and ask for exactly what I need to provide, or even email me if you have access to that info since I pretty much never log in here.

Isn’t this a purposeful feature? C-tap jumping? Is what I’ve heard it called. If you’re sprinting and you do it then you do a long jump. If this isn’t a feature now then I hope it will be.

This isn’t though, https://www.reddit.com/r/Dirtybomb/comments/39s474/so_its_also_possible_to_reset_walljumps_with_the/

A crouch-jump longjump is not the same as what I’m trying to describe here. The longjump is where you tap crouch before you jump, what I mean is tapping crouch while mid-air after you jump, and it causes very strange behaviour which really does not look as though it is meant to be in the game at all.

crouch-jump longjumps are fine, crouching mid-air causes problems.

I took a quick google for “c-tap” jumping and haven’t found anything on it, part from a few threads on a RJ technique from tf2 and other unrelated posts talking about longjumps.

But now there’s this thread on it too.

You literally just spam crouch to jump higher and to infinitely wall jump.
