g400 mouse, do u use the software?

The mouse doesn’t come with software, but there’s the logitech gaming software you can download from logitech’s g400 support page.

My question is to any g400 owners, did you download and install it? is it worth it?

more fluff same sh***, i got it for my mx518, uses 31.180k memory, command editor, profile editor, noob friendly, more easy to use than the old stuff, good if you also have a logitech keyboard, you should try it, it’s fun

I have a G500, I put the software on so I could up the polling rate to 1000hz, many say there’s no difference over 500hz but I did because I could… feels more precise for me. I also liked being able to set my DPI steps as well.

I have the g400 and don’t use the software at all. Plugged it in and was already clocking at 1000hz, then just adjust my DPI (I use either 400 or 800 depending on the game) by clicking the minus button under the scroll wheel a bunch of times to make it its lowest setting (400 dpi) then adjusting upwards once to 800 if needed. I always have trouble with the logitech software stemming back to their old mouseware crap.

I thought that fix didn’t matter anymore on windows 7 installing, thanks.

It doesn’t if you have enhanced pointer precision disabled your game doesn’t automatically enable it.

Never noticed any games I play do this, but perhaps the ones that do always offer raw mouse input and I always use that if it’s available.

So yea, 99.9% of the time it’s not needed and even when it is needed you’ll know it because the game will have very obvious mouse acceleration with no option in-game to disable.
