No its my prediction.
RTCW and W:ET server admins, clans, individual players tried their best to explain/give feedback to SD 7-8 years ago in the ETQW era. The feeback was given to closed ears.
As I understand it SD runs the show, and they make the direction they want.
Its just strange how SD wants to go their own direction, and win the likes of their W:ET player base at the same time. It cant be done.
No same old since 2007+ era
New game though, and game media companies was invited to play.
Hype train has begun for new game, but underlying problems since last games are still there.
No I mean:
ETQW
Brink
ETQW made W:ET fans actually super pumped for the game, but most went back to W:ET.
Brink made W:ET fans take a peek at it, but snoozed.
To get a W:ET fan excited about SD game now adays would require some serious community healing from SD.
I’d be surprised if W:ET people even know DB exist to be honest.

Well, ET fans are very stubborn in this regard. They don’t like RTCW either.
ET fans want an exact copy of their old game, just with better graphics (only to turn them down via a cfg or driver programs later 
). So it was pretty obvious ETQW didn’t appeal to them.
Brink didn’t appeal to any of the old fans from the 3 games.
I consider it as a very difficult task to excite ET people for a new SD game.
Yes, some do as some were already here and even others are active in the forum here.
I dont know of any competitive ET, RTCW or QW player that wants better graphics… Everyone I know doesnt really care how the game looks because we do dumb down our CFG’s to give us an advantage.
We just want to game to be as smooth as possible with high frame rates and great game play…
Even on these forums I have not heard anymore detail post of map art… Only possible player lighting…
In its current state, pretty much yeah: “People gonna try it, and then people gonna stop trying it.”
Let’s hope that all that talk in the “Dirty Bomb heritage trailer” will become true.
You should make more of this videos, it was a real treat to hear your thoughts and see that your are going in the right direction, a bit slow tho 
If 50% of what you are saying in that video will materialize, you will make a good game, for a great game you need the help of your community and some luck

Didn’t they already do something like that? Colonial Marines I thought was the game they developed through that.
