func_constructible, multiple brushes?

(Mean Mr. Mustard) #21

All things I planned to cover in the tutorial, but haven’t got to yet… damaging and constructing are not too bad and neither is stopping it because something is built or not built (ie. barricade or bridge). Maybe I’ll try to ‘whip’ out the obstacle section for you. Then get something in place for the repair/damage.

For the function constructible, I think mine is just a brush that is textured with the ‘clip’ skin. Don’t forget the origin for this also - if you want it to move with the tank. The best thing to do is to grab all the ‘tank entities’ right from goldrush. I did this for the truck, but then started to eliminate entities to try to explain what each did and how to script it.

If you have any suggestions for tutorial, please let me know.

In the end I got lazy and just copied the tank from the goldrush map…

Your tutorial is pretty good so far, the only thing that confused me at first was that you use different accum’s than in the help file that comes with radiant.
Also, maybe you can add a short introduction to the scripting, explaining the “grand masterplan” of the vehicle. For me the hardest part was getting all the correct entities & brushes in the map itself (I’m quite new to Radiant).

That small diagram showing how the different routines activate eachother is great! A simple graphic like that can really make things more clear.
