why bother to post and read (assuming you actually do) those threads then?
Let me start by saying that I love this game.
However, being critical towards certain flaws in its execution (the sounds that disappear, the lag at times etc) is in no way comparable to hating the game. It’s certainly true that the newer generation of gamers (I’m 33 myself and have been gaming for 25 years now) is thinking that FPS equals CoD-style gameplay (as in Team Deathmatch, k/d ratio is everything and teamplay is for wusses), whereas we as older gamers still remember much more team orientated games like Unreal Tournament 2004, Team Fortress Classic, Unreal 2 XMP etc.
@IG THOMBOW: There will always be trolls and those people deserve to be ignored, I agree. But comparing people who make a structured argument about things that are wrong with the game with CoD-fanboys is shortsighted. No game can ever be a 100% perfect but if people point out issues which hold merit and could be addressed it shows respect from the developer towards its customers if the developer gets on the ball so to say.
SD has done a good job so far, I would like to thank them for their contact with the community and Brink-fanbase. Being critical towards certain flaws in the game they made is by no means stating “this game sucks”, nor does it constitute a flame attack on SD itself. As long as criticism is properly explained and constructively written it deserves to be respected and the matters it adresses should be discussed.
finally a well founded opinion which is rare these days.
especially the last paragraph! i do miss a certain respect from new members whose complaints a legit and valid. however they undermine their criticism by the way they articulate it.
