"Full Crosshair" & It's Representation of Bloom

(Melinder) #1

I’ve been a dot user for over a year now. However, I swapped to Full Crosshair for a game, and I felt as if my aim had become a lot sharper, as I was taking into account how flared the crosshair was, and only shooting when it was tight.

Do the current in-game Full Crosshair’s represent bloom accurately? Or are they just rough estimates? I realised if you stop sprinting, the crosshair remains flared for around 1 second before it resets, which makes me realise that a lot of my shots that missed when I used a dot was due to me not realising that the flare had not reset.

personally i dont think there’s too much flare on most weapons. most rounds will land around where the dot says it will land, they can flare out to as far as the crosshairs say, but i guess mostly it doesnt. depends on the weapon, i think.

dot crosshair for me is better than full, the cross itself kinda gets in the way for me, but mostly i use custom crosshair that’s a circle(that coincidentally is exactly as big as the full crosshair)

also i think i remember from somewhere an update made it so it took until the ironsights were fully up before all the bloom disappeared, and not right after you tap rmb, so there’s that just in case.

I feel more precise when I use the dot crosshair over the full crosshair. It tricks my brain into thinking that the guns are 100% accurate, so I tend to aim more carefully.

After 8 shots I pause to reset for long range targets or I just ADS. The crosshair is so bad IMO.

I think full crosshair is a good way to get the feel of weapon reaction, after a while go back to dot and muscle memory will do

Probably somewhat useful yes, too bad it takes half the screen in 800*600 (which I’ve always used and won’t change) so it makes it completely unusable for me.

native resolution is usually preferred

And custom crosshairs are always preferred too  That way I could have a small crosshair and my favorite resolution, just like in CS GO.

I don’t mind if anyone is using the dot crosshair, but the reason why you should use the full crosshair is because you have to check the gun’s spread.

In DB if you fire enough bullets, your spread gets quite wide that you’ll miss some shots afterward. What I always do to prevent this is to ADS whenever I start to feel the spread is too high.

This is so important and basic way of aiming when you use guns like MK.46, Large Mag , has to fire more than 30 rounds full auto, and super fast bloom enlarging speed. You hipfire first, check your own spread while firing, then ADS to escape from the influence of enlarged spread.

Full Crosshair is also especially useful when hipfiring Grandeur, which has very fast aim reset speed.

You HAVE TO CHECK your own spread to land all hipfire shots with it.

oooooor not?

full crosshair is too annoying. and ill never use the bloom feature. in theory i suppose its a must have. but for me when playing i prefer the dot.

The full crosshair is good and all, but sometimes the dot crosshair fools your brain into thinking your gun is 100% accurate, even though you know it’s not, making you subconsciously aim better.

The point about the Grandeur is valid as well.

This. @Herr_Hanz Dot aim has no problem in DB. I know.

But I really do recommend you to use it with Grandeur unless you memorize all those aim reset speeds.

With the exception of the grandeur I personally find full crosshairs show way more bloom than there actually is and the lines are too long. With the hit indicators it can get messy

I use dot because of personal preference. I only improved slightly after switching to dot so I think both are cool.
