Fueldump

So I randomly picked up this game looking through steam, and when playing I commented to my friends on how it feels kinda like Enemy Territory, which I played for so many hours back in the day. Only 5 minutes ago did I realize that its the same developer!

With that being said, I would love a modern version of fueldump from enemy territory. That map is still my fav of any game I have played to date, and I miss it dearly. It would actually fit in perfect with the objectives of this game.

Anyone else played both games?

I have played both, but fueldump is quite big for this game. It would need to be a smaller version of the same map.

I still think Goldrush and Siwa Oasis would both be great addition to DB.

Fueldump was my favorite map on ET! I wish for modders to bring back all old ET maps. oh the memories

My favorite were SupplyDepot and Delivery

In etqw i loved most of all Salvage, Sewer and VOlcano, Area22. but those are very big maps, though some object-layouts can realy fit in DB. (Like SEWER last object)

Some ET maps would be awesome

Actually Terminal and Bridge are pretty much a restyled Siwa Oasis and Goldrush respectively.

YEP!
Terminal is Oasis so much it is downright scary. The entire layout is essentially the same.

Bridge is Goldrush T.E., the version with no jeep escort & the far shorter tank escort to the top of the bridge instead of twisting around to axis spawn.

Chapel to me feels like Fuel Dump due to the long and tedious tank escort, but the back half is different.

Underground, an ET bud of mine is convinced plays like the second half of Battery which I see on occasion but not always.

Trainyard feels like Railgun to me for the first 2/3rds then a backwards Radar for the last 3rd[/left]

The problem with Splash Damage porting fueldump to Dirty Bomb is that the maps origins came from a modified single player map in RTCW. Since Splash Damage was hired with the intent of making an expansion to RTCW( which was scrapped but ID allowed the multiplayer to be released as a standalone) that particular map remains the property of either ID or Activision ( who purchased Gray Matter Interactive-- the creators of the singleplayer). Oasis and Goldrush, as others have pointed out, are in the game as Terminal and Bridge because these maps were created by Splash Damage and they could port their designs over.

Artistic assets in the form of textures can be argued, but that’s not what’s being discussed.

In the way that Terminal resembles (and certainly isn’t a port of) Oasis, SD can make a map resembling Fuel Dump and as long as it’s created entirely by SD/Nexon, then no one can really do a thing about it. Honestly, how many unaccredited/deliberately worded/advertised knock offs are there throughout the video game industry — More than there are originals, at any rate.

Trying to imagine Valve getting successfully sued because someone had already made a game map of a house on a lake or a highrise still under construction… Pretty hilarious.

I made a post about this recently and thats exactly what I’d like to see. Except, you know, in London. A really long escort mission, like 1/3 longer than Chapel, with a constructable bridge, a tunnel, and a walled encampment with some destructable walls here and there. Enemy Territory was my addiction, I’d never played a game as much as that one, or as long.
