I searched for the title and didn’t find a relevant thread. Will we have a buddy messaging system? Quake wars was great in this regard. I want to be able to quickly see which of my buddies are playing, what server they are in and server info.
Friends list
Plus ones.
Brink kinda had this via steam… but no server infos. Some sort of buddy thing would be great.
It’s times like this I wish it had a hook into steam, all my gaming friends are on there and can see when I’m playing or even what I’m playing. Me venturing onto a new game, posting screenshots and talking about it on the community section can cause them to look it up and maybe gain some interest.
I always enjoyed the Quake Wars buddy system. Def would like to see an improvement in the in game messaging/chat system though between players if they go that route. Def liked the creating a clan and having your whole group/team showing up on a stats website. I know I saw a few testers mentioning something like this that they too wanted to see.
There is definitely going to be a messaging and friend system in one form or another.
//EDIT: disclaimer: unless something goes horribly wrong.

Awesome.
… to the definitely going to be a messaging part… Not the horribly wrong part.
If we’re going to have a buddy/friends list what about small profiles? This could be a good place to list clan associations and such. I don’t know how much we need to recreate steam but with a game like this I know I won’t mind having an independent list from the other services/systems I use.
As it is now I just leave the launcher open.
