Fresh Start -Reset Account-

(delicateAlmond) #1

I’ve reached level 78 right now. unlocked all mercs, played all the mercs with every weapon and every challenge. 8 months passed, never changed. I’m bored from dirty bomb but here is the interesting part ; Dirty bomb is so addictive i cant just delete the game and get rid of playing. I tried but couldnt succeed. This idea came my mind but for now, i’m not completely sure to do this so, i m just asking how its works.

Is there a way to reset account ? -like a new player, all mercs locked, start from level 1-

I reasearched a little bit but everybody says that open a new steam account. its not solution for me. I’m waiting your opinions.

Edit: I wont play DB after this process, so this is for prevent from addiction.

10/10 i would pay to reduce my level

do you know how many times i asked to give me the option to let me pay to reduce my level to level 1 again?

(Dagasawr) #3

well you could just make a smurf account but then youd be a asshat for stomping level 1-5s on a smurf.

I don’t see a problem with smurfs as long as he doesn’t deliberately joins max 6 servers.

And then people would call you a hacker because you are too good…

Honestly I wish lvls would be cut from the game or at least that your lvl is never shown to other players except people on your friendslist and yourself. The only thing lvls are good for in this game, is creating salt…

I would prefer it, if they just hid them instead of cutting them off altogether. I still quite enjoy when I reach a round level like 10, 20, 30, 40, etc. It gives such a delightful sense of accomplishment even if the reward is only a number.

can we focus main issue of topic?

Not only the level but also stats.
Dirty Bomb is the first game I really “try hard”, playing with the will to improve and become a decent player. I started on a laptop, with 22% accuracy. After a couple of months, I went up to 28. At this point, I had played so much that it was hard to have a true view on my real stats, as it was improving every day.
When I got a new computer, I had to create a new account just to have an idea of my stats. I was quite surprised to see my accuracy going up to 39 %.
It was also really fun to start on a new account, being limited to some mercs, having to decide which one you should buy next, getting exited for iron cards…

I am quite disappointed to not have access to my current stats on my main account as it’s a good way to track my performance.
Being able to reset it at least could be cool.

As for the levels, or paying to restart… well, a smurf does the trick pretty well. Beeing Hackused can be fun at first. Then it’s just annoying.

So, to anwser OP: there is no way to do it, as far as I know.

I don’t believe there is any way you can reset your DB account, and I doubt you could get the devs’ sympathy to do it.
Try to find an alternative solution.

And, if you believe that this is an addiction then deal with it like an addiction. Seek help from someone close to you or find information on the internet as how to deal with an addiction.
It’s slightly painful to think that you’re playing a video game without having any fun.

what about “steam’s permanently removing game” ? If i do that, everything will lost or just the name will disappear from my account ?

(Dagasawr) #11

wouldnt think so. i figure that info is kept on nexon’s servers not steam’s

(ChaoticElf) #12

Send a ticket to support and see if they can remove your account?

That’s fair, I can see why the levelling up gives you some satisfaction. Hiding them from other players would already be enough for me.

I’m actually surprised that SD made it impossible to see the lvl of the players while everyone is voting on the next map and are changing their loadouts, but once you are in the match you can see the lvls of the players anyway. So basically they went from showing them continuously to showing them half of the time. I don’t understand why they don’t hide them in the match itself as well tbh.

I don’t think that will work tbh. @Daga is right I think. All the info of your account is probably stored on one of the Nexon servers. Permanently removing the game from steam just deletes the game from your system but your account is managed by a server so next time you download and install the game again, you will still have your Dirty Bomb account.

The real question is, why smurf account? What advantage you will get? Maybe the real answer is, to have possibility to stomp and feel pro?
Or?

There is no way to lower your level or to “reset” your account.

Instead of having to reset or smurf your account to get current stats I’d rather they provide stats for the last e.g. 5/10/25/100/forever hours of playtime. They might offer the current “forever” stats for free (like it is now) and the others unlockable with money.

Pay for stats? really? I would like it if they offered the stats from recent games though.
