So ever since the most recent major update, I’ve noticed a huge amount of framerate drops. Before the update I was getting a solid ~60 fps or more even during high intensity situations. Now my game frequently bounces from ~180 fps to 20 or lower, and then back up when using lowest settings, and 60 to below 20 when on high. After a lot of testing, the thing that causes the most lag is moving my mouse, whenever my mouse is moving, my FPS is dropping, and sometimes it completely freezes. This is also a problem when using a custom config to improve framerate even more, the effect is eventually the same no matter what I do.
Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? Do I just wait until the game is optimized/fixed? The game is pretty much unplayable at this point.
My specs are:
Windows 10
GTX 970 (EVGA FTW Edition)
AMD Fx-6100 (6 cores overclocked to 3.5ghz)
16 GB 1866 RAM

Frequent Framerate Drop, even with lowest settings and a custom config
It is believed to be an issue with Win10. I am experiencing the issue myself 
Several friends resolved the problem by downgrading back to WIn7 or Win8.1
EDIT: But I am stubborn and refuse to downgrade. Working on trying to find a fix myself, but I doubt it will be possible because it is a patch that triggered the issue. I did see good results by changing the pool size in the game engine ini for a little bit, but then trainyard loaded and it was worse then ever…
I also refuse to downgrade, mostly because this machine has been running a clean install of Windows 10 since day one of the Insider Program and I don’t have any way of actually downgrading, but also because I don’t want to.
I fixed the issue, but I have no clue why it worked. I simply reinstalled the game and boom, all my issues were resolved. Perhaps there was some sort of file corruption that Steam couldn’t figure out when I checked cache integrity, or maybe the drive I had it installed on is dying.
Whatever it is, the game finally works now and I no longer drop below 60. As dumb a solution as it is, I’d say try it out, maybe it’ll help.
