Had no problems at all till today. Had two back to back in game freezes followed by back to back endless loading screens and now another in game freeze.
All of these have forced restarts of system or unplugging it. system is only a few weeks old and playing everythign else fine so far. This is really starting to wain on my patience and about to just give up and play something else for a few days.

Same. This is just stupid. I get infinite loading screens any time I try to load a level, offline or online. Yesterday everything was working (relatively) fine. I was playing games and sticking with fireteams…

Below are some ideas for troubleshooting persistent freezes in BRINK (on consoles).

hey i dont have a ps3 but i just wanted to say that Crispy has already said this on the Xbox threads like we dont already know this crap. Crispy… instead of telling us we r stupid why dont you actually give us some help, or at least tell us Splash Damage is working on Brink’s many many many issues.
The reason why people are complaining is because the game is good but we cant really play it due to bugs. Now if SD wanted us to continue to play it I suggest yal offer real Tech support and not just repeated insults to our intelligence.

I totally agree with you sir! SD need to tell us what they are going to do about it, not regurgitate the same nonsense over and over again till they eventually release a patch that may or may not fix the problem.

I do not know if this could be useful; I’ve a fat PS3, with last firmare available and last update available for brink; country Italy, adsl Telecom
I noticed that without connection the game do not freeze.
Day 1 tried to play “mission” after an online session - > the game freeze
Day 2 tried to play “mission” without be logged in - > no freeze
Day 2 logged online the game freeze, restarted with online connection
Day 2 logged on campaign - > no freeze
Day 2 logged on freeplay - > freeze
Day 3 logged on freeze
Please note that everytime the game feezed I accessed the profile directly from greed.
I hope you’ll be able to resolve this because I like brink and I want to play online

I’ ve the same issue and i think if they don’t solve it like in 2 or 3 days there will be a bunch of pre owned Brink in shops cause a regular ps3 owner or xbox or pc can’t stand to buy a broken game and can’t play it cause it’s bad programmed.
(And first of all i tell that i love the game, i’d love it if it worked).
I got this problem from 2 days, first i only got the “regular” brink freezes in loading and reboot of my ps when i go back to xlmb (or what it is), things that are not regular for a 60 euros game but that you can overbye… maybe.
Now i completely can’t play brink, i tried to delete and reinstal 1.02 but it gives the same, it also looks like a ps messing and i think if i keep trying it will break it cause after brink freezes it also creates problems of ps freezeing till i reboot again, even if the game is out. It looks like brink messes up with some codes or stuff like that of the ps, it’s not a game freeze, it’s more a system freeze, don’t know. Brink like that is like a ps3 virus i guess :stroggtapir:
I played a lot of other games and they work perfectly, only fallout freeze cause it’s another well programmed bethesda game like who played it knows but at least you can play…
So our ps3s are perfect is the game and i guess the 1.02 that messed things up more than how much they was messed up already…
The only way to play is offline and one time i got a play after goind offline and then online again but it’s not normal and i’ll not play brink again till they don’t fix it i guess cause i don’t want to repair my ps for SD fault… so fix it soon, without standard answers or things like that. You made e mess and you risk to have to pay back all the copies sold cause you are selling a broken game…

Mine has frozen on me twice within the last 24 hours, including once right in the middle of a very nice killstreak (hey…I was guarding the safe, alright! 
But I’m having issues with my ISP today, so I can’t say it’s on the game’s end or theirs.

Ok, i delete even the save data, i could play a little doing this even if getting a lot more freezeing then it started to do that damn freezing at the beginning again, only online…
so i think Splash damage did a mess with the new netvok or what it’s name new stuff, so please fix it and do it soon cause for a lot of people the game is geting completely unplayable… i don’t ask for e new copy cause it would be useless, maybe i’ll ask money back if is possible by law… hope to get an answer soon…

last trend:
log in in the ps3 inteface
start brink
start free play
choose standard session
a) the game start connection, after few seconds the screenshot freeze and then start loading the mission
b) the game start connection, after few seconds the screenshot freeze and then crash
Sometimes it freeze before the connection, but is rare.
Using or not using the compatible headset it seems not affecting the frequency of the problem.
Using or not using the auto login in the profile it seems not affecting the problem,
I had similar problems only with DRAGON AGE ORIGINS before the patch.

Can everyone please respond to confirm if they are or are not getting more freezes in online play than in offline play.
For this thread in particular, please only post if you are getting persistent freezes (at least 1 per hour, for example).

Ok,
me and 3 other guys on my psn list are getting continuous freezing, expecially at the start of a match but even when loading after the SD logo and when costumizing the character. By now in the last tryes i can only select character, then i freeze and i’ve to reboot, i can’t even go back with the xmb.
In offline the freezes are really rare, it’s an online issue i guess.
If i can give a suggestion (with my informatic ignorance so take it as it is) you’ve to look in 1.02 or in the netvark update, i think is something with the netwark change cause i started to get it when the store came back, so exactly when the balance update came, and so other people did.

I am getting continuous freezing as well.
Since 6/2 actually.
With offline AND online play.
Gets to the loading screen and just sits there
I can play other games, ex: Bad Company 2 and Assassins Creed Brotherhood, single and multiplayer with no problems.
All 7 of the people I know here in Denver who bought this game are experiencing this as well. 3 have returned it already, though I myself would like to keep it… its a fun game that has a unique feel, and Ive have a loyalty to Bethesda since before Morrowind…
But in all honesty, with the recent failures of Sony with PSN, customer satisfaction is on a short fuse… especially when it seems like Bethesda doesn’t even acknowledge there is a real issue and make a statement.
I do software Quality Testing myself, and I appreciate how much time and effort that takes…
But, simply being honest about the issue and telling us if you are working towards a fix would go a long way

This evening 5/6 freeze ( also after firmware update ) in half an hour
then i log out from psn account
started an offline play ( perfect )
than logged in in the game
all worked well
usually once i start the first game online everything is fine since i continue to keep in the same play
by now challange and freeplay scored the higer number of failure.

Other guys on bethesda forum having same issue since the same period (so around nevark change).
I definitely think that’s the cause or maybe a mix of it and 1.02.
Crispy, just a question, will there be a fix? And when?
cause we really need to know if we have to sell/ ask for refund Brink or not, i don’t wanna hold it waiting for months for a patch cause i’m completely unabled to join an online match and i don’t wanna even give it back it and discover a patch 2 days later… please inform us if you know something about this issue. thanks.

If it can help i’m seeing from forums that a lot of Itaians have this problem, even if many other countries have it.
Don’t wanna bother you but ask again, have you idea if there will be e fast solution, cause days are passing and preowned Brink are growing in shops, and i’ve to know if i’ve to add mine to the list.
Other question, +if you don’t fix it can i have a refund? Stating at the garancy at the end of the manual i guess yes but how, who do i have to ask, i wan’t a full refund not like 35 euros for giving it back?
