Freezing game when choosing a weapon

(SlapmyFace) #1

Hello there. I hope you can help me with my problem, I’ve been trying to start the damn game for like 3 hours now… I can’t believe it

Well, so after creating and customizing your character, you get to choose a weapon. Once I choose one, it freezes, and I have to close it via task manager.
If I try to start a solo campaign without choosing a weapon, the game just freezes while loading the “server”…

My specs are:

Windows 7 32-Bit
2 GB RAM
Sapphire Radeon HD3850 512 MB, AGP x8
AMD Athlon+ 64 X2 2.4 Ghz
Resolution ingame: 1280720, Desktop resolution 19201080

What I tried was:
-run as admin
-compatibility mode vista sp2, xp sp3
-disabling shadows, motion blur, anti aliasing, tried with everything off
-searching through tons of threads in here to get an idea what to do

No fixes…

Not to mention, I had the OpenGL 3.1 driver / video card combination problem as well, although my graphics card supports OpenGL 3.3. Updated the driver and it worked… until the abovementioned moment where I had to choose a weapon.

I’m sure I can’t hope for an answer like “oh, that’s easy, you forgot to xyz”, but if anyone even tries to solve this issue with me, I’d appreciate that.

Regards,

[li]See if the crash also produced a minidump (MDMP) file[/li][ol]
[li]Go to …\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\brink[/li][li]Look for the most recently created MDMP file (Right-Click > View > Details)[/li][/ol]
[li]Post a link to the files here (Pastebin works), or if you don’t have a way to host the files, let me know and I’ll give you an email address to send them to. [/li]
I also need to see your full DxDiag log.
