Free modelling-editor?

Hey guys,

I was just making an airship in Milkshape 3D V1.7.1 until it asked me to register because the program couldn’t save until then. I was wondering, is there a moddeling-editor which is for free? Because I’m not really willing to pay 50$ for 1 small airship…(it would only take 2 days to create it…so it would be seriously rediculous to pay 50 bucks just for that).

I haven’t found anything related to this anywhere, so I’m sorry if it would pop up somewhere and I would’ve 2x posted the same thing…

i think Maya from alias has a pretty good free version

Gmax is good for any kind of q3 stuff but as a general modeler it sucks because of the limited file formats.

Sorry to have bothered you all with this, I have now installed Maya and am ready to model! Thanks a bunch you guys, again, you have saved my mapping behind!

Err, can Maya export the right file format?

I’m still experimenting with the plug-ins and exporters, so I’ll give you an update once I am able to export the right fileformat.
